Increasingly finding that the one thing that most makes managers panic about AI is showing them, not the advanced features of GPT-4, but rather the fact that Copilot for Office can create an OK PowerPoint with speaker notes from a document in 47 seconds. This is all real time.

The document was also 100% AI, all from the prompt "Write a Harvard Business School case about Tesla" - that's the sum total of human input. Everything else is AI.

Organizations will change as a result.

I wouldn't call it just "OK." Even if it's "OK" it solves a cold-start problem for many; it's a lot easier to work with an existing preso and make it better as opposed to starting something from scratch. Audio (dictation) works extremely well, too.

It's a horrid design and breaks all the rules of a well designed presentation for a speaker. In business anyway.

FWIW - ChatGPT (Advanced Data Analysis) does this as well.

Very bad news for bureaucrat managers Very good news for hands on managers

Panic? Why?

A lot of people do a lot of PowerPoint for a lot of their workweek.

This integration is a big deal, people just don’t realize it yet

People fear losing their jobs. It's one thing when you see AI write a blog post or do accounting. It's another thing entirely when you see AI doing a good job at your exact day-to-day every morning and afternoon for the last ten years. It's coming for everyone.
