Singer and philanthropist @DollyParton has called on Indiana’s governor to reverse course on plans to do away with her popular “Imagination Library” program. The country singer, who started the book gifting program to encourage early literacy, urged Gov. In 1995, she launched Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a nonprofit program that mails one free, high-quality, age-appropriate book every month to enrolled children from the time they are born until they turn 5 years old. What I always loved about Dolly was that despite her incredible success, she never seemed to lose her warmth, humor and humanity. Some artists simply make hit songs. Others become part of people’s lives and memories. Dolly Parton was one of those artists for me. Rest in peace, Dolly. I will always love you. ❤️

She wrote Jolene, 9 to 5, and I Will Always Love You in the same mountain voice that took a dirt-poor Sevier County girl to more than 100 million records. Asked Tyler Reddick for his thoughts on the passing of Dolly Parton given his experience driving a Dollywood car at Bristol in 2019. He shared that Dolly had wanted to come to the race but couldn't, but she made the effort to reach out and send a video over to wish Tyler luck. "The fact that she was wanting and willing to do something like that to get us ready for the race kind of speaks to the type of person that I think a lot of people in the world knew her as."
