The anti-drone systems which developed both by DRDO and industry were very successfully used as huge number of drones were coming in. Brahmos missile was used as a very effective, accurate and reliable weapon. The armed forces were well trained on this during the development phase and then later during the trials... Its role was very important and therefore I think today Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated a facility in Lucknow to produce 100-150 missiles of Brahmos every year..."

COAS viewed integrated fire and battle maneuvers of Army Air Defence systems which includes High to Medium Air Defence Weapons System (HIMADS), Low to Medium Air Defence System (LOMAD), Short Range Air Defence system (SHORADs) and Extended Short Range Air Defence system (ESHORADs). In a landmark achievement and milestone in enhancing the Air Defence of the aerial frontiers of Pakistan, HIMAD system in maiden fire was able to successfully engage the target at maximum ranges along with other layered weapon systems which were tested during the exercise. COAS highly appreciated the remarkable achievement of engaging targets with precision and operational readiness of Corps of Army Air Defence. While interacting with the officers and troops, COAS highlighted that Armed Forces of Pakistan are modernising their systems in line with our requirements to deter and be able to respond to any threat emanating against Pakistan. The successful flight test underscores the technical maturity, innovation and self-reliance achieved by Pakistan’s defence industry. Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL) has developed ‘Bhargavastra’, a new low-cost, indigenous Counter Drone System designed to neutralize drone swarms. Successfully tested on May 13, 2025, the system uses unguided micro rockets (with a 20m lethal radius) and guided micro-missiles as a dual-layer defence, capable of engaging threats up to 2.5 km away and operating in diverse terrains, including high altitudes. It features advanced C4I systems, radar detection up to 10 km, and EO/IR sensors for precise targeting. Modular, scalable, and network-ready, ‘Bhargavastra’ can also integrate soft-kill options like jamming. Considered globally unique in its category, it marks a significant achievement under the “Make in India” initiative and enhances India’s layered Air Defence capabilities.
