Given the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project's astronomical cost—over ₹1.1 lakh crore—and the fact that it primarily benefits two already well-connected urban hubs, why didn’t the government prioritize high-speed rail routes for desperately underserved rural or remote regions of India, where basic rail infrastructure is still lacking, instead of catering to elite urban commuters?"
