How a golfer addresses the ball can influence early extension and their ability to create space: Standing too far from the ball can encourage early extension because the body has more incentive to move toward the ball. If a golfer wants to avoid thrusting forward, they need to be close enough at address that the lower body has a reason to move away from the target line.

WE NEED PASSES THAT DON’T MATTER My college coach used to say this all the time. We need passes that connect our offense, and build rhythm. If every player tries to make a play on every catch, the momentum of the ball stops. A simple way every player can help their offense is by consciously making an effort to keep the ball moving and make ‘passes that don’t matter’ You’ll get the ball back, I promise!!

The #1 Plyo Mistake Many athletes end up yanking their throws to the center line of the target. Amongst other factors (like going too heavy), this can lead to a pushing path & your first throws cutting in catch play. This is often made worse by throwing to narrow plyo walls.

LB Long Stride-Short Side Drill - The drill builds upon a box angle tackle progression but incorporates a long stride and short stride aspect to it. - Coaches should deepen the depth between the linebacker and the ball carrier for this specific drill. - Players usually utilize crossover footwork to run and close the distance to the ball carrier. - Players must use a long stride to close space, and then transition to a short stride to throttle their feet, widen their base, and get under control. - A critical coaching point is to keep the inside foot up rather than back, which prevents the ball carrier from cutting back and breaking the cup. - Coaches can incorporate a drop progression element into the drill, acting as the quarterback to get the linebacker set up before they come out of their break.
