Pet theory: Fact: In the ‘80s, Trump tried to buy an NFL franchise; when that failed, he bought a USFL franchise, then sued to force the leagues to merge. That also failed. Fact: Trump again tried to buy an NFL franchise, using overvalued assets as collateral. Again, he failed.
