A foraminotomy w/wo discectomy can be done. Discectomy requires disc to be soft. It is not used as an approach for central stenosis, myelopathy, instability, deformity or kyphosis. It is ideal for radicular symptoms.

Disc sucking has been around for years. Previously it was primarily for the lumbar spine. This cervical procedure might work ok for limited circumstances but I'll bet that when all's said and done, the billing will be the most successful part of the procedure 😎☮️

Billing has not been kind to endoscopic work so far.

Something very satisfying about this

@Davembmd Is it really this easy

@Davembmd No, I don’t believe it is. Learning curve w endoscopic approach is not quick.

interesting

It’d be helpful to see actual intraop video. Unlike the lumbar spine there is much more bleeding in C-spine using a 14mm METRx tube (from my hundreds of such cases)from prodigious venous complexes dorsal to the lamina & epidural. The endoscope cannot avoid these. ⬆️Learning curve

The indication of minimally invasive (closed endoscopic) methods is higher than the other in this appointment. Significant surgical deficit, cauda equina may be a contraindication.

Would this process also work to remove Tarlov cysts?

This is cervical spine at neck
