Insane to see the iOS simulator in Codex. iOS dev is about to get way easier with this plugin.

More of the iOS app loop, now inside Codex. The Build iOS Apps plugin lets Codex view and test your iOS app in the in-app browser, open SwiftUI previews, and hot reload edits without leaving Codex.

Mobile dev in 2026 looks nothing like mobile dev in 2024. Editing an iOS app with Codex, live, in a real iOS simulator running in the cloud on Revyl, with Expo hot reload OTA. Every change shows up instantly. No Xcode. No provisioning. No cables. Whole app took ~20 min start to finish. Not a single line of code written.

💡 Codex Tip Create a local environment to have Codex auto install dependencies for your worktrees and create actions for quick access to common commands. Actions get executed in your integrated terminal so Codex can also access the terminal output. For iOS developers check out the iOS plugin that automatically sets up your actions to build and run your app!

OpenAI just killed the worst part of building iOS apps with AI. The new Codex "Build iOS Apps" plugin can now: → run your app in an in-app browser → open SwiftUI previews → hot reload edits all without leaving Codex. No more copy-paste-build-screenshot loop. The agent sees what it ships. This is the loop indie devs have been begging for.

Try out the Visualize plugin (in preview) in Codex. Some ideas click faster when you can see and interact with it. Here’s a fun example where I asked Codex to build a planet simulator with different controls. 🌎

Last week was Windows, this week goes out to the mobile devs! Now, you can build, test, iterate on iOS apps much faster inside Codex. You can now: - Give precise feedback on your app's UI to Codex using annotation mode - Ask Codex to test every element and orientation of your app using the browser. Try it by installing the Build iOS Apps plugin. s/o to Evan Bacon 🥓 for serve-sim that allows us to make this possible & Rounak Jain who cooked to get this one out!

all it takes is 1 skill file to give the cursor iOS app its own simulator for building iOS apps I use lim.run (YC P26) to do this which lets me build cog using cog it installs the app, drives the simulator, and adds screenshots/videos to the PR

✈️ Introducing “simmer” I wanted to do native iOS dev on my Mac mini at home from a plane but still SEE and INTERACT with my app So I built this while on the plane 😅 • iOS + Android sims in your browser • Built-in terminal access • Designed for high latency workflows
