I will never forget what a 50+ year old man working at the Hotel Nacional in Havana told me in 2012. I was sitting outside in the big patio area and a hotel worker was standing nearby watching the news on a TV that was on at the bar, i started talking to him, he spoke perfect english, he told me he spoke numerous other languages which the hotel arranged for him to learn at the university over the years. he was well educated. he told me he knew he will never be able to leave or have the chance to see the places the people he meets are from and where the languages he learned are spoken. that was one of the saddest things i ever heard in my life. it was a reality that he recognized and accepted. one of the interactions that shaped my opinion on that island and communism in general. Cuba is literally an island of slaves, captured by Castro and a few other men who sold the fantasy of social equality; but there are only two classes in their reality, the leaders and the slaves.

As aomeone that was raised by Cuban parents, who suffered greatly at the hands of the communist regime, we fully support this, Nick! My mom was just talking about how finally someone had the guts to go in there and expose it all. That being said, pray for the uncensored faces in this video. We are on the brink of one day becoming LA, Portland, or Chicago. Traditional democrats vote blue no matter who, ask me how I know? I ran for city council and I am a Republican. China and Vietnam seem to be doing fine. It’s almost like there is a much larger country to its north starving it.
