Instead of taking over ACF, WP should have just had a "fields" feature. In 2004. ACF was the first plugin I installed when I had to use WP. It inspired a lot of what Payload does and we're a nice transition for WP + ACF devs looking to jump ship.

The timing of this WP drama couldn't be better w/ Payload v3 launching. Excited by the future of @payloadcms and have been having a great experience with it (and the team) thus far. I've done everything to avoid WP over the years, it's just crazy to consider in this day and age.

Ecommerce (Shopify) apps also need Collection / Nesting enhancement. Metafields in Shopify is blindingly difficult.

WP stopped evolving many years ago. Many missed opportunities ACF is just one of them, they could have had a first class Headless API support, GitOps, Migrations.

Accurate. Kinda went backwards in some spots too, like Gutenberg introducing magic HTML comments into post content. Could have made that whole API store proper JSON but nope. HTML string with magic comments.

💯 WP is nothing without ACF and Payload has it baked in.

Absolutely! Other CMSes, like Drupal, have had something like that for that long

Steps to Creating a CMS: 1. build a good fields API 2. everything else

🚩Winston Peters (Nationalist) has clashed with David Seymour (Globalist) over Fonterra's proposal to sell retail brands like Mainland and Anchor, and other assets, to the largest dairy corporation in the world, French company Lactalis. “Fonterra. I'm saying, have enjoyed by statute and by Parliament the position of a monopoly privilege and now you're selling it and claiming it's all of your own right'. No, it's not. It's the right of the New Zealand people” said WP. Seymour who along with National favoured selling off our Power companies and wants to sell off what little state assets we have left after the next election and along with Luxon and Hipkins has welcomed Blackrock investment, criticised WP for getting involved in the subject, resulting in WP saying “I milked cows for 20 years” Shane Jones and most of my party milked cows, Seymour doesn’t even know what one end of the cow looks like . Yesterday WP wrote an open letter to farmers urging them to reject the offer which he says is too low and Lactalis can terminate the contract after 3 years which would have a horrific effect on NZ diary exports as we cannot sell for a premium. WP also raised concern that the contract allows an exit clause for Lactalis: “Or to put it in the jargon of Fonterra, “the initial term is three years. Following the initial term, the Global Supply Agreement automatically renews until it is terminated.” “Automatically renews until it is terminated” is corporate flannel, executives flimflam, tier one C-Suite rubbish that translates to: ‘after three years, we cancel.’ That’s it. Milk split. Fonterra will be a wholesaler. Lactalis will control your brands.” Wrote WP. Listen to WP speak with Jamie McKay today on ZB on the issue - likening this deal to when John Key sold off Silver Fern farms to the Chinese (basically the CCP). “When will New Zealand ever learn, over and over and over again we make this mistake”

Ben Bussy Doyle got psyched out by WP today during his question about HIV. WP objected to him using the word Aotearoa instead of New Zealand. WP raises a point of order, proceeds to basically tell off Gerry for allowing the question in the first place “They aren’t going to change it (the country’s name) by themselves!” Gerry accepts he missed the written question when it was submitted, (it has been decided by the speaker that NZ be used as well when using AO). The speaker agrees with WP’s point of order and then tells Bussy to start again. Because Bussy is thick, has mental illness and is inexperienced he thinks he has to insert “New Zealand” after Aotearoa, glancing at WP while he does it, immediately - WP : Point of order “he’s not sticking to the script” LOL’s Gerry gets shitty and through clinched teeth says : “BRENDON Doyle one last time” 😂 You have to read the approved question word for word. Amateur. Ben the Bussy then asks Casey Costello what is she going to do regarding reducing local HIV transmission by 2030 (there’s that year again) and also what will she do to stop further Infections at birth, pointing out NZ’s first case in 20 years - Costello tells the house that as Bussy very well knows, the two cases are from travellers who had a baby here while pregnant so it wasn’t acquired locally. This twisted idiot is out of his depth. All quite amazing especially considering Bussy worked at the Burnett foundation while they rolled out their campaign called “don’t be a dick” and even just last year shot a political video in front of the poster which discouraged causal partners from asking before sex if that person has a STD … including HIV. We are living in clown land.

The Washington Post committed massive election interference on behalf of Joe Biden to help him win in 2020. WP produced a fake story through its "fact checking" department that became nationally accepted and served as the basis for exonerating Biden of corruption in Ukraine. From CNN to Senate Democrats, everybody repeated verbatim the WP story in defense of Joe Biden. This was just as big, if not bigger interference than the media outlets claiming Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation. Hunter Biden was being paid by corrupt, criminal oligarch Zlochevsky, owner of Burisma. At the same time, Joe Biden demanded that Prosecutor General Shokin be fired or that he would not release U.S. aid to Ukraine. It worked. Shokin was fired. There are two options. Prosecutor General Shokin's office was investigating the owner of Burisma or it wasn't. If it was, that means that Joe Biden blackmailed the President of Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating a criminal who was paying his son millions of dollars for doing nothing. If that is the accepted narrative, there is no way around it. There is a good chance that Biden does not get elected. Even Trump's phone call that led to the first impeachment would have been seen differently. Or...the Prosecutor General wasn't investigating Zlochevsky and Joe Biden just cared a lot about fighting corruption in Ukraine. This actually became the narrative and it was because of the WP. The Washington Post never spoke to PG Shokin even though Shokin volunteered to talk. The WP never checked the details of what actually happened with the case in Ukraine. They used a one sentence quote given by someone who was fired by Shokin on suspicion of working with the Biden family in Ukraine, to form this story... "The investigation into Burisma was dormant." And boy did they run that story over and over and over. Every single day until half the country was mindlessly repeating it. Dan Goldman quoted the Washington Post story repeatedly in defense of Joe Biden. French journalist Olivier Berruyer actually looked into what Shokin did during his one year stint as PG. Turns out, the investigation was active the entire year. The court had seized all of Zlochevsky's personal property just days before Biden demanded that Shokin be fired. Biden absolutely did use foreign aid to get a prosecutor fired who was investigating a criminal who was paying his son. Biden said they replaced Shokin with "someone solid." That person closed all criminal cases against Zlochevsky and settled for a fine. The fact checkers at the WP straight up lied about other aspects of the story. They lied about the content of a speech given by Ambassador Pyatt and they lied about dates of incidents, all to smear Shokin and help Biden. Berruyer did a number of videos exposing all of it. Nothing complex, he just doubled checked what the WP claimed, and easily found they had repeated lied. And now Democrats are canceling their WP subscriptions because the paper hinted at the possibility of attempting to not be completely biased.
