Until now, accessing Canton Network as a developer meant learning Daml. For most of the Ethereum ecosystem, that was a wall and the institutional infrastructure on the other side of it remained out of reach regardless of how good your product was. Zenith changes that. Ethereum and Solana pioneered DeFi and built the world's most active programmable financial ecosystem: 76M+ deployed smart contracts, 127M active wallets, and $160B in DeFi TVL. That foundation is real and it matters, but the institutions moving trillions on-chain chose different infrastructure entirely. Canton Network already processes $9T in monthly institutional settlement, DTCC is tokenizing U.S. Treasuries on it, Broadridge processes $8T+ in monthly repo on it, JPMorgan and HSBC are running production operations on it. These two worlds weren't competing, they were building in different languages for different requirements, with no native connection between them. Very often retail and crypto natives have never heard of Canton Network and when they discover there are trillions of $$ onchain already and the caliber of firms active on the network, their jaws drop, just like David’s here when he realizes $CC is already a top 50 token. Crypto markets have been messing around for a long time. They’re about to find out. I’m looking forward to hearing their interview with Canton in January where they’ll learn how open and public the network is and why both institutions and crypto startups are joining.
