OPERATION HADIN KAI EXECUTES UNPRECEDENTED INTELLIGENCE-LED RESCUE OPERATION, FREES 360 ABDUCTEES FROM JAS STRONGHOLD IN THE MANDARA MOUNTAINS In one of the most significant hostage rescue operations conducted in the North East Theatre in recent times, troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), comprising Special Forces and troops of Sector 1, have successfully rescued 360 abductees from a heavily fortified Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) enclave deep within the Mandara Mountains area of southern Borno State. The operation, which was the culmination of weeks of painstaking intelligence preparation, covert reconnaissance, and operational planning, resulted in the safe recovery of men, women, and children who had been held in captivity under harsh conditions after being abducted from several communities, particularly within the Ngoshe axis. The successful rescue underscores the growing operational reach, intelligence dominance, and tactical superiority of OPHK in denying terrorists freedom of action and protecting vulnerable populations across the theatre. The operation was initiated following the receipt of credible and corroborated intelligence from multiple sources indicating the precise location of the hostages and the existence of an elaborate insurgent support network sustaining the enclave. OPHK intelligence elements subsequently launched an extensive target development process involving the integration of Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations conducted through unmanned aerial systems and long-range reconnaissance patrols. Through sustained intelligence collection and analysis, commanders developed a comprehensive understanding of the terrain, insurgent disposition, defensive arrangements, movement patterns, and the condition of the abductees. This intelligence-driven approach enabled the force to accurately map the objective area, identify vulnerabilities within the terrorist network, and significantly reduce risks to the hostages during the rescue mission. A decisive breakthrough was achieved through the successful penetration of the terrorist network by carefully cultivated intelligence assets operating under the supervision of OPHK military intelligence personnel. These assets provided timely and actionable intelligence regarding the exact locations of the abductees, the disposition of insurgent commanders, internal security measures, and planned relocation routes. Simultaneously, carefully coordinated information and psychological operations created uncertainty and mistrust within the insurgent ranks, degrading their cohesion and disrupting command and control arrangements. The resulting intelligence advantage provided OPHK with unprecedented situational awareness and enabled commanders to shape the operational environment well before the commencement of the assault phase.

Supported by real-time ISR feeds, assault forces infiltrated the objective area under the cover of darkness while blocking forces established positions along likely escape routes. The operation achieved complete tactical surprise, overwhelming the terrorists before an organised response could be mounted. Faced with the speed, precision, and overwhelming combat power of the advancing troops, several insurgents abandoned their positions and fled into surrounding mountainous terrain, while others surrendered. The hostages were swiftly secured, medically screened, and evacuated from the objective area. Regrettably, two infants succumbed to exhaustion occasioned by the extremely challenging mountainous terrain and the hardships endured during their prolonged captivity

Military Air Assets Decimate Terrorist Convoy, Neutralize Scores of Fighters in Coordinated Air Offensive Near Cross Kauwa By: Zagazola Makama The Nigerian Military, operating under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has recorded another significant operational success against ISWAP terrorists following a series of coordinated intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and precision air interdiction missions around Cross Kauwa and Ali Sherifti in northern Borno State. Zagazola Makama learnt that the operation dealt a devastating blow to terrorist logistics and fighting capabilities, resulting in the destruction of multiple vehicles and the neutralisation of several insurgents attempting to regroup within the Lake Chad axis. Sources said the mission commenced late on June 6 when an ISR platform established surveillance over a suspected terrorist hideout at Cross Kauwa, located along a network of tracks concealed within dense vegetation and scattered tree cover. Intelligence-driven reconnaissance revealed a significant concentration of terrorist activity in the area. Military sources disclosed that during the surveillance mission, operators positively identified approximately 12 vehicles concealed beneath trees and observed the movement of suspected terrorists attempting to evade aerial detection by moving between cover positions. The discovery pointed to what appeared to be a major terrorist staging area used for logistics, movement coordination, and possible attack planning.

INDIAN ARMY CHIEF GENERAL UPENDRA DWIVEDI’S PRACHAND SORTIE UNDERSCORES INDIAN ARMY’S EVOLVING COMBAT ROLE In a strong endorsement of indigenous capability and operational readiness, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bengaluru, to review indigenous aerospace capabilities and ongoing Army Aviation projects. The visit showcased key platforms such as the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv and the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand, along with the upgrade, maintenance and production ecosystems supporting Army Aviation, highlighting India’s growing strength in this critical domain. During the visit, the COAS undertook a sortie in the LCH Prachand, gaining first-hand experience of its superior performance and combat capabilities. The sortie served as a clear affirmation of the platform’s operational effectiveness and its critical role in delivering decisive aerial firepower in the tactical battlefield, while also reinforcing the Indian Army’s continued push towards Aatmanirbharta in defence. The contemporary battlespace is increasingly dominated by drones, loitering munitions, unmanned aerial systems and counter-drone systems, extending the battlespace beyond the ground into the low-altitude airspace above key battle areas. This has brought the Air Littoral into sharp operational focus. Recent conflicts have underscored that dominance in this zone directly influences the tempo, survivability and outcomes of land battles, necessitating rapid, localised control and response by ground forces. It is in this context that Prachand assumes significance. Agile, precise and optimised to operate in all types of terrains, Prachand provides the Indian Army with a dedicated platform to play a decisive role in the increasingly contested lower airspace. India’s first indigenously designed attack helicopter, it has been specifically built for high-altitude warfare and can operate effectively in rarefied conditions exceeding 6,000 metres. Its advanced avionics, precision weapons and survivability features make it ideally suited for roles such as close air support, anti-armour missions and armed reconnaissance. The Chief’s sortie thus reflects a broader transformation - where indigenous capability, leadership intent and evolving doctrine converge to position the Indian Army as a key force in shaping outcomes in the air littoral battlespace.

Indian Army Intensifies Winter Operations in Kishtwar and Doda to Flush Out Pakistani Terrorists As the bone-chilling winter descends upon the Himalayas and the 40-day period of Chillai Kalan grips Jammu & Kashmir, sources in the defence establishment have said that the Indian Army has intensified its counter-terrorism operations across the Kishtwar and Doda districts. Undeterred by freezing temperatures, treacherous terrain, and heavy snowfall, Army units have expanded their operational reach into higher and snowbound areas to pursue and neutralise Pakistani terrorists attempting to exploit the harsh season for concealment. Traditionally, the onset of Chillai Kalan; the harshest phase of Kashmir’s winter spanning from December 21 to January 31 ushers in a temporary lull in terrorist activities, as communication routes close and heavy snowfall isolates mountain regions. However, this winter has marked a decisive shift in the operational approach of the Indian Army and other security forces. Instead of reducing activities, sources have said that the Army has adopted a proactive winter posture, establishing temporary bases and surveillance posts deep within snow-covered areas to maintain unbroken pressure on possible terrorist hideouts. Operating in sub-zero temperatures with limited visibility, Army patrols have been regularly traversing high-altitude ridgelines, valleys, and forested areas to deny terrorists any sanctuary. The shift according to experts signifies an evolution in counter-terrorism tactics, underlining both the Army’s adaptability and its resolve to maintain operational momentum irrespective of the season or terrain. A defining feature of this year’s counter-terror strategy has been the integrated approach to operations. The Indian Army is leading a synchronised effort involving multiple security and law enforcement agencies, including the Civil Administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Operations Group (SOG), Forest Guards, and Village Defence Guards (VDGs). This inter-agency cooperation ensures seamless sharing of intelligence, resource optimisation & sharper operational execution. Intelligence from multiple agencies is carefully synthesised to draw precise situational pictures of terrorist movement and hideout patterns. Once intelligence is verified, coordinated joint operations are planned & launched, minimising overlaps and ensuring maximum impact with tactical precision. The synergy among ground units and intelligence frameworks has enhanced response time, enabling security forces to act swiftly the moment actionable information surfaces. As per assessment made by various intelligence agencies, there are approximately 30 to 35 Pakistani terrorists currently in the Jammu region. Inputs gathered over the past few months suggests that these Pakistani terrorist groups, finding themselves cornered by successful counter-terror operations, have shifted deeper into higher and middle mountain reaches of the region; areas now devoid of habitation. These terrorists are believed to be seeking temporary winter hideouts to evade detection and avoid direct confrontation with security troops. Reports indicate that these remnants of terror groups are attempting to coerce or threaten local villagers for shelter and food supplies, though their support among locals and overground workers has sharply declined. The drying local support and continuous security vigilance at lower altitudes have forced them into isolation, further restricting their ability to regroup or plan coordinated attacks. The principal focus for the Army and other forces this winter is twofold: to eliminate remaining terrorist pockets within known areas and to ensure that terrorists remain confined to inhospitable higher reaches. This containment strategy not only prevents terrorists from infiltrating or regrouping in populated belts but also significantly disrupts their logistics & communication.

Airstrikes Destroy ISWAP Stronghold, Logistics Hub in Borno By Zagazola Makama The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has sustained its relentless air campaign against terrorist elements in the North-East, destroying a key terrorist enclave and logistics hub during a precision air interdiction mission in Borno State. Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out at about 2:40 p.m. on Friday, July 10. The sources disclosed that the target was located at Yaganari, a notorious terrorist enclave within the Gezuwa general area, where insurgents had reportedly been regrouping and consolidating logistics for planned operations. According to the sources, the strike followed credible intelligence indicating increased terrorist activities and the massing of fighters at the location. “Persistent ISR missions were conducted to verify the intelligence before any engagement. The surveillance platform positively identified multiple terrorist structures, logistics hubs and visible movement of insurgents within the objective area,” one of the sources said. Following confirmation of the hostile activity, the aircraft acquired the designated targets and executed a series of precision attacks in successive passes, delivering onboard munitions with high accuracy. The coordinated strikes destroyed the identified terrorist structures, obliterated logistics facilities and neutralized several terrorists operating within the enclave. Military sources described the mission as another significant setback to terrorist operations in the North-East, noting that the destruction of logistics infrastructure would further degrade the insurgents’ ability to sustain attacks and coordinate movements. The latest operation emphasis on intelligence-driven precision strikes aimed at dismantling terrorist command centres, safe havens and supply networks while supporting ongoing ground operations by troops of Operation HADIN KAI. Security sources said battle damage assessment is ongoing to determine the full extent of the damage inflicted on the terrorist network, while air surveillance over the area has been intensified to exploit the success of the operation and prevent any attempt by surviving fighters to regroup. Sudanese Army Downs Advanced Chinese FH-95 Drone Over Jabra Al-Sheikh Weeks After Recapturing the Strategic North Kordofan Town, Renewing Focus on UAE Arms Supplies to the Rapid Support Militia The Sudanese Armed Forces said on Saturday that it had shot down a hostile FH-95 drone over Jabra Al-Sheikh in North Kordofan, the latest development in the escalating drone warfare being waged by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Militia. The army said the aircraft was successfully brought down, while Sudanese Echo obtained exclusive video footage documenting the moment the drone was shot down. The FH-95 is an advanced Chinese-made, multi-role unmanned aerial vehicle designed for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and electronic warfare missions, while also capable of carrying out precision strikes. Published specifications indicate that the aircraft has a take-off weight of around one tonne, can carry a payload of up to 250 kilograms, remain airborne for up to 24 hours, and operate at altitudes of around 42,000 feet. These capabilities allow it to conduct long-range surveillance, intelligence gathering, electronic jamming and attacks against ground targets. The appearance of another sophisticated UAV comes amid mounting evidence from hundreds of reports and investigations documenting the militia’s foreign weapons and logistics networks, including the role of the UAE in arming and supporting the Rapid Support Militia. The incident is particularly significant because the drone was downed over Jabra Al-Sheikh, recently recaptured by the Sudanese army alongside Bara and Umm Sayala in North Kordofan. Those operations secured important supply routes towards El Obeid and disrupted one of the militia’s movement corridors between Darfur and central Sudan. The army also repelled a major militia assault on Jabra Al-Sheikh only days ago, as fighting continues across the Kordofan fronts. #Sudan #RapidSupportMilitia #UAEKillsSudanese #UAESponsorsTerrorism
