Interesting experiment from Google that creates an NPR-like discussion about any academic paper. It definitely suggests some cool possibilities for science communication. And the voices, pauses, and breaths really scream public radio. Listen to at least the first 30 seconds.

A use-case I am waiting for GPT4o voice for is exactly this but more a dialogue between myself and the AI about a topic. Fully understanding with depth a topic doesn’t come from shallow reading, I have to fight with, and argue with and against the information. Thus, an LLM seems a perfect fit if it can keep up with the conversation.

I asked chat gpt to create podcasts from papers. Straight out of the box it was ok!

Yes - I think there even a bigger opportunity in general to have AI conversations/shows/podcasts between agents. Something about a back and forth vs a single voice makes it feel more 'real'.

this is a great little setup for the uninitiated especially. I was able to show this to my dad a couple weeks ago and have him really grasp maybe for the first time just how wild of an era we’re in/heading into

I did this a few months ago, and I feel like my result is a bit more engaging:
