Interesting footage from B-58 Hustler escape capsule testing in 1962. When activated, a harness system secured the clamshell doors closed. You could either continue the ejection by firing the rocket motor or remain secure in the capsule and take a forever nap.👀

On June 8, 1966, a NASA F-104 collided mid-air with the XB-70 Valkyrie during a GE photo formation over California. Caught in the XB-70's wingtip vortex, the F-104 rolled inverted, struck the bomber's tail/wing. After the collision sheared off the XB-70's vertical stabilizers, the bomber entered a violent flat spin with high g-forces. - Joe Walker (F-104) was killed instantly in the explosion/impact. - Major Carl Cross (XB-70 co-pilot) died in the crash; he did not eject.(Likely reasons: incapacitated by extreme g-forces/centrifugal forces in the spin, which prevented him from retracting his seat or activating the system; a seat retraction mechanism failed under the overload; or he delayed initiation too long as the spin built.) - Al White (XB-70 Pilot) ejected using the XB-70's unique clamshell-like escape capsule but was seriously injured (his arm was crushed by the closing capsule doors during the sequence). He survived.🫡

The South Korean Army has released footage of the K239 rocket artillery firing on an island. On that day, 36 CGR-080 missiles armed with high-explosive fragmentation warheads struck the island. Hearing the roar of a rocket motor is unchanging pleasure. It would be good if they showed footage of the DPICM warhead. The K239 is a rocket launcher system capable of firing short-range missiles up to 500km long-range missiles. It is currently in large-scale operation in South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Poland, and the UAE. Depending on the target and mission, the K239 can utilize a wide variety of specialized missiles and can be integrated with various military vehicles. Currently, a lightweight K239, known as the HPRS or HPMRL, and an unmanned UMRL are also under development.
