INTERESTING: This man filming a store front on a public sidewalk gets confronted by the owner. The owner then pushes the camera and the man sprays him with pepper spray! The officer responds and issues citation to the store owner. Do you think that was the right move?

IMHO, the cameraman was instigating a fight. The owner came out and told him to get out of the doorway and pushed the camera when the cameraman stuck it in his face. However, the cameraman backed up, and then the owner followed him and pushed the camera again... this was a mistake. If I were the judge, I would tell them both to grow up.

This isn't hard. The cameraman was on a public sidewalk. Nothing the cameraman did was illegal. The store owner assaulted the cameraman. The store owner found out. Easy-peasy.

When you put hands on me or my stuff for engaging in legal activity, pepper spray was the best approach. Sure I could punch you, but then maybe you fall down and hit your head. I’m trying to stop you in the manner with the least liability.
