IMHO, the cameraman was instigating a fight. The owner came out and told him to get out of the doorway and pushed the camera when the cameraman stuck it in his face. However, the cameraman backed up, and then the owner followed him and pushed the camera again... this was a mistake. If I were the judge, I would tell them both to grow up.

The camera man was on public sidewalk from what I can tell. Store owner assaulted him. And you damage my camera gear like that if spray you with pepper spray too!

This isn't hard. The cameraman was on a public sidewalk. Nothing the cameraman did was illegal. The store owner assaulted the cameraman. The store owner found out. Easy-peasy.

When you put hands on me or my stuff for engaging in legal activity, pepper spray was the best approach. Sure I could punch you, but then maybe you fall down and hit your head. I’m trying to stop you in the manner with the least liability.

This man has his American Bully dog at a park. The dog was sitting in a sit/stay training excercise. He’s had extensive training. He did have a leash on but his owner obviously didn’t have the leash in his hand, part of his continued training. As the owner walks back to him, a gentleman comes up and asks him to please put him on a leash and to hold the leash because there is a lot of distractions at the park. The owner replies “that is part of training.” The owner said “If I thought there was even a small chance he would harm a kid or react the wrong way, I wouldn't put him in that position.
