That is not at all the case. It is true that a couple of years ago, we did impose a cap because we had issues. There simply wasn't enough housing. There were some fly-by-night colleges. We wanted to clean that up, but we have done that. Now we have 400,000 students in Canada... you are very welcome as students, and parents and students, please do consider Canada..." He adds, "...when it comes to the question of visas, people tell us all about that... the problems they have with getting the visa... I can tell you that as a result of the Prime Minister's visit here only 2.5 months ago, we are actively working on fixing those problems, making the experience much better..."

WATCH: Prime Minister Christopher Luxon discusses the possibility of increasing immigration with India as part of the free trade agreement. One of the biggest issues appears to be making it easier for Indians to get student visas to study in New Zealand. Currently about 10% of student visas NZ hands out go to Indians. India wants us to take more. NZ currently rejects quite a high proportion of applicants from India because we want to make sure they have enough money to provide for themselves while they’re here, and want to ensure they’re really going to study rather than just use it as an excuse to sneak into the country - some of the homeless people in Aucklands CBD are apparently international students, so it’s important to get this right. MBIE data suggests that about 70% of students from India get a work visa after studying, and about 40% get residence - this is quite a high proportion of students staying on. What we want to avoid is a situation where we train up hordes of Indians and they end up taking the place of our own best and brightest in the future NZ economy and society. No point having an FTA to make us richer if all the benefits flow to Indians in both countries.

University of Tokyo students say it will be "great" when Japan becomes like Paris with "people with different skin colors," and that immigration "will positively disrupt the existing values and lead to more diversity, creating a more stimulating world." Japan is on the same trajectory as the US circa 1960. 10% of Tokyo residents in their 20s are foreign born (not including non-Japanese born in Japan), and 70% of Japanese say it's good to have more foreigners. There are several theories about why the West opened its borders: whites fell victim to Jewish mind control, liberal politicians wanted to import friendly voters, Northwest Europeans are uniquely individualistic, etc. But a key part of the story is that, unless they're indoctrinated to be nationalists, most people of all races just don't care about racial purity, and their culture means less to them than a kebab stand.

The root of teen takeovers is the breakdown of the black family, and the fact that so many black children are raised without a father in the home. On top of that, schools were told they could not discipline students if that discipline disproportionally affected black students. To stop unruly teens from taking over the streets, the police must be allowed to do their jobs and make arrests, and the criminals must be prosecuted and punished. While talking about confrontation with China, they assert that high immigration is simply the correct policy (even a “superpower”) for the West and that Trump and his populist peers have it wrong because the population must keep growing to compete? Never mind that mass immigration itself has become one of the defining national security and political questions of the West, never mind the emergence of AI and automation, never mind concerns over immigration are one of the principal reasons populists like Trump are being elected, never mind a large portion of immigrants are coming from China. One is the Director of the International Security Program at the Lowy Institute and the other is the former Deputy Secretary for Strategy in Defence. Actually terrifying that for all the in-depth discussion they could have on vital interests and IR realism when it comes to immigration it’s just vapid.
