Internet Computer holds onto top-spot in the scalability war. DFINITY Foundation's Internet Computer boasts a 7-day TPS of some 2,417 tx/s per Chainspect data at time of writing. This sits well above other leaders like Solana $SOL (1,367 tx/s) and Stellar $XLM (149.2 tx/s). Let us know if you're...

Internet Computer's Cycle Burn Rate is Skyrocketing: What it means... Today, the Internet Computer (DFINITY Foundation) dashboard showed a sharp rise in Cycle Burn Rate to about 0.30 TCYCLES per second, a 6–10× increase from its previous rate of 0.03–0.05 TCYCLES/s. This was mainly due to a temporary load test conducted by Toko App, an NFT app on ICP, testing the fleet management capabilities. The test is expected to run for most of the day. However, what it means for the protocol is very important: 1.) Real network usage is increasing: Cycles are burnt only when the canisters perform tasks such as executing programs, storing data, or processing messages. Higher burn rates indicate increased computation being performed by the Internet Computer at present. 2.) $ICP tokens are being destroyed: The creation of those cycles requires burning of ICP tokens through the Cycles Minting Canister process. The ICP tokens are burned forever, hence reducing the number of tokens available in circulation. 3.) Deflationary pressure is increasing: Higher burn rates act as an offset against the constant minting of new ICP tokens for the purpose of rewarding node providers and governance of the network. 4.) It contributes to the Mission 70 objectives: One of the main objectives of ICP's Mission 70 is the significant reduction in inflation until the end of 2026. In other words, the soaring Cycle Burn Rate demonstrates that the Internet Computer is being used productively. Future development will determine whether these rates persist, but the indicator itself is one of the clearest signs of true demand.

Internet Computer introduced OpenSaaS, but what is it? Internet Computer (DFINITY Foundation) introduced OpenSaaS today, and it's become a major topic of conversation in its ecosystem. Given the huge traction, it makes sense to dive into what the feature means for ICP... What is OpenSaaS? As the name implies, OpenSaaS is a native AI suite of open-source business applications designed to run on Cloud Engines. ICP enthusiasts know what Cloud Engines are: the Internet Computer Protocol's sovereign cloud. Back to OpenSaaS, DFINITY calls the open-source applications "Alware." What Alware does: They are applications that AI can read, extend, and operate against, since the data and logic live in the same place. Okay, here's a breakdown; - The alware or application suite can be installed like an app on mobile phones. - It is free forever, and there are no per-seat licensing costs. - It is remixable, meaning that users can modify an app by explaining changes to AI - One set of AI agents that could work in any application on the live business data. - The firm owns the software and possesses the keys. - The stack operates on Cloud Engines that are tamper-proof and always on. Simply put, OpenSaaS is not a single CRM with an attached AI chatbot. Instead, it is an operating layer for back-office apps: accounting, people, expenses, deals, projects, calendar, signing, requests, payroll, invoicing, procurement, support, analytics, website, and identity. Use case: - For a growing company that is drowning in seats. - For operators who need one answer across systems. - For teams that keep waiting on vendor roadmaps. - For companies and public bodies with data residency rules. - For an "agentic" back office. - For internal builders. - For multi-company operations.

President Trump posted this Explanation on what BITCOIN is… • In the video, Peter Van Valkenburgh, Director of Research at Coin Center, delivers an explanation of Bitcoin during a U.S. Senate hearing. • He describes Bitcoin as the world's first cryptocurrency, powered by the first public blockchain network, which enables anyone to send and receive value globally using just a computer and internet connection—without relying on trusted middlemen like BANKS. • He emphasizes its revolutionary nature as the first public digital payments infrastructure, comparable to the internet for information but for money. • Unlike traditional systems that depend on PRIVATE banks to update ledgers, Bitcoin uses a PUBLIC blockchain where anyone can create an address for free and transfer funds, regardless of background or credit status. • Van Valkenburgh argues that Bitcoin's decentralized design addresses flaws in centralized systems, which have single points of failure leading to massive breaches, such as the Equifax hack exposing 143 million Americans' data, SWIFT network frauds totaling hundreds of millions (including North Korean involvement), a $1.8 billion robbery at Punjab National Bank, and a 2016 botnet attack disrupting major websites. He extends this to the Internet of Things, citing hacks of pacemakers, baby monitors, and vehicles. • He advocates for building more public infrastructure like blockchains to reduce reliance on powerful corporate intermediaries, foster competition, and prevent failures. • Bitcoin, he says, is a computer science breakthrough akin to the internet, promoting freedom, prosperity, and human flourishing, with potential to replace other centralized chokepoints.

We are building something that will outlive us. Outthink us. And we have no idea how it actually works. Nobel Prize-winning “Godfather of AI” Geoffrey Hinton just exposed the lie at the center of the AI race. Everyone assumes we control what we create. Hinton destroys this. Hinton: “If you look around on the whole, more intelligent things are not controlled by less intelligent things.” Stop calling it a computer program. Hinton: “People refer to them sometimes as computer programs. They’re not computer programs at all. In fact, the way they work is very like the way we work.” Traditional software is static. Human writes logic. Machine executes it. Neural networks don’t work that way. Hinton: “You write a computer program to tell a neural network how to learn. But once it starts learning, it extracts structure from data.” We don’t code its behavior. We code the environment. Then it grows. Hinton: “The system you’ve got at the end has extracted its structure from the data. It’s not something that anybody programmed. We don’t exactly know how it’s gonna work.” We are deploying systems into the global economy actively writing their own internal logic. Right now. Hinton: “Some people think it’ll be fine because we make them and we’ll build them in such a way that we can always control them.” Hinton: “But these things that will be intelligent, they’ll be like us.” You cannot hardcode guardrails on something that out-thinks you. We are not building a tool. We are building our replacement. And the moment you realize that, everything about this race changes.
