That’s rhetoric on our part, you know, to say: “Hey, China is looking, this is going to give them the opportunity to take over Taiwan.” That’s just disinformation on our part. When is the last time China has invaded anyone? They want to handle that peacefully and want us out of that. It’s just like if Texas decided to secede. We wouldn’t want anybody else in our business. "I think that the United States needs to be more like China because China is the safest country I have ever been to in my entire life, and it is because of the amount of surveillance that they have. Everybody always likes to talk about how China is so scary because of their surveillance. No, that is literally why it is so safe. That is why I can travel here as a woman by myself. I've been to over 50 countries, and I can confidently say that I feel more safe as a woman because of the security that is in place in this country.”

Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, China refused to bend the knee to Washington’s hegemonic diktats. The US would rather go to war with China rather than allow it to surpass it economically, and any country that doesn’t obey US diktats is viewed as an enemy.

“I think the world must realize that China will not converge with Western norms, and it will find its own path to modernity,” Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said in a recent interview with the Financial Times, noting that China is a technological leader in many areas, in advanced manufacturing, in renewable energy, and the world has to contend with and accept the reality that China is not just a rising power, it is a risen power. China recently decided to forgo its special and differential treatment provisions in the WTO. In just this past year or so, it has doubled down on its support for global institutions. These are examples of how we have to embrace the reality that China will be a key player, and potentially a key leader, in this new global system, said Wong.
