best chrome feature in years

🙏🙏

Vivaldi browser: - Vertical tabs: January 2016 - Split view: Landed in Vivaldi 5.0, June 2022 So yea... :)

Just need vertical tabs on left to match Arc browser UI.

Work in progress!

Will Chrome get an Edge-like Workspaces feature?

Thank you this is awesome

🙏

Please can you add a keyboard shortcut to do this more quickly So we can use the number shortcut for choosing a specific tab along with split

wow, was using a shoddy extension for this thanks for showing

Glad we could finally land it natively!

And you are aware of MacOS > Window > Tile left/right ? It’s not browser specific, you can do this natively with any App 👀

Yep! I've tried to make that workflow work over the years, but it hasn't clicked (for me) as well as split view has directly in the browser like this.

Fair comment 👍

I found out it yesterday and it’s life changing

Fantastic to hear

Great feature for meetings

I think so!

Finally good lord

when are the vertical tabs dropping?

That would be an amazing feature 👏

🙏

Finally, a reason to actually maximize my browser window

I used it last week for a comparison.. fantastic feature

Edge has that since InternetExplorer 9

Still far from Arc by @browsercompany

RAM boooooooooooooooooom

love this… using it on a bigger monitor already feels like a game changer.

It’s delightful

This is really useful. Happy to use it.

I didn’t know I needed this feature until I stumbled on it. Now I don’t necessarily have to worry about going to my home office where I have the second monitor, I can just split the view and do what I need. Of course I still need my second monitor when I need to do things in a spreadsheet (those rows are so tiny). Either way, this is a feature that comes in hand from time to time and I love it! I think this goes back to the ‘build what people need’ conversation - I know I can drag my browser tab to the top of my screen and actually split the view but this is useful because in 2 clicks (no dragging) I can see 2 tabs without having to create a new window. Morale of the story - build cool/useful features. And kudos to you @addyosmani & team.

Super useful

🙏

Split tabs: Arc->Comet->Chrome

Haha it's been a while now man! But it's a totally worth it feature...

i like this

🙏

Came across this yesterday and help me save swapping between screen time... I can see both views together like working on we application to check mobile and desktop view together

Fantastic to hear!

This is the best feature you guys released after so long.

Is it the scheduled post?

Please workspaces and vertical tabs next 🤲🏽

👀

I fricking hate when I’m organizing tabs in arc and instead of just re-ordering then I drop the tab above another one and they “split”… what the hell. You told you we need this? If I need multiple tabs open, I just open a new window to the side. Browsers are the same (fundamentally) since I open my first one in the 90’s.. although the web is soooo different and has evolved so much. Can’t we really do better than the current state of the art? @addyosmani by the way, congrats on your new job. PS: yes Teo complains about Arc, but afaik is the best browser around. Prove me wrong !

Great. Now give us vertical tabs.

Finally :))

I like this one
