Introducing Copilot Chronicle. All of your session data indexed and searchable by the agent via FTS and SQL queries. Analyze your sessions to auto-update instructions, find details about that bug you fixed last week, and figure out which times of day you're most productive.

Chronicle uses a local sqlite database with a rich schema that tracks user messages, assistant responses, file edits, and much more organized per session. Available today under /experimental via .412-2 CLI pre-release, with the auto-update rolling out over the next few hours.

Chronicle indexes your local session data in the background, and you can run `/reindex` on first boot to backfill your historical sessions.

@_Evan_Boyle does this means we could essentially "search" for previous plans the agent generated?

Yes, all prior plans are indexed as well.

the session history angle is criminally underexploited. most agents work off a clean slate each time. your approach of indexing and making past context queryable changes the game. agents that actually learn from what theyve done before are fundamentally more useful

Does it contain my prompts? I discovered today thing back to a week old session, which went through compactization, some of my middle 😕 prompts were gone.

Any management facilities (clear, raw view, edit/curate)? Are these for all sessions across or the search is bounded per the session folders/projects? You want to push it to the max? nightly go over those SQL entries and distill back to context files you can check in / roam with

@DerekLegenzoff is this only for CLI or does it also index chats in VS Code?

@_Evan_Boyle looks cool 👍 maybe not have to add #session to conversation, if a session conversation is already going like the new stuff about memory/sessions ..and am impatient on hooks ;-)

Bingo!!! I’ve been looking for something like this forever! Every time I ask about saving my previous sessions, people ask why I would want! This is why, and now I’ll have the tools 😉
