Closing the drawer with the hip and using the foot to lift the door is straight up bad ass

This is very obviously being remote controlled. Hire a mime next time, somebody who can mimic the way a robot would actually move. Bonus note - the back of hand cabinet door adjustment and using a foot to lift the dishwasher door clearly show that there's a human piloting this thing. Fire that idiot.

Do dishes as in "use another machine that's specialized in doing the dishes"?

What i see every time you do a demo is a lot of incomplete movements where you basically gave up on dexterity and fine control. e.g. why is he dropping the plates the last inch? etc. You are trying to Waymo your way into the robot market and just like Waymo you will get stuck.

This is very cool and only the beginning of humanoid robotics. Isn’t it fascinating that a machine loads the dishwashing machine? ;-) this is the slowest and clumsiest these will ever be. Also: it would already be useful being this „slow“, because I don’t care that it takes 30 minutes to unload the dishwasher if I don’t have to do it. This is sooo exciting!!

Alexa works for me with 50% accuracy, down from 60% over the last ten years, Google voice works with 30% accuracy, down from 50% over the last 5 years, Siri can’t even find playlists on Apple Music neither can go along with wifi on Linksys routers. So, are we ready for inviting robots to our home? Not for me.

Now show it in a real kitchen that is a mess of containers and condemns stacked up. Full dishwasher of silverware. I think those are… ‘table stakes’

If robots can wash dishes, why would we still have dishwashers?

@Rewkang Impressive, but the description in the post says "to do dishes end-to-end". This is not end-to-end because it's only putting away clean dishes, which is the easiest part that people don't resist doing as much as the cleaning of dishes.

Houses are already full of robots (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave...). The only piece missing is a robot to orchestrate them.

Are they still trying to pretend this is the actual use-case for these things? 🤦🏻‍♂️ Who would be spending millions to make something that's only purpose is to do a task that's, at most, a mild inconvenience? Like think about for a minute guys.. 🤯

Cmon, have a shred of scientific integrity. Show benchmark results and independent evals, not just videos. Google can do it, so it's possible.

Let me know when it can nest two ceramic, not plastic, bowls in one hand while it opens the cupboard with the other, and when it has unloaded the dishwasher, close it gently with its foot, just like me.
