Brian Armstrong on crypto becoming much bigger than Bitcoin "A lot of people, when they hear crypto, they still think about Bitcoin or something like that. And Bitcoin's great. It's digital gold, it's gonna be here forever. I'm very bullish on Bitcoin." "But crypto is actually much bigger than that now. Crypto is a technology that's updating every aspect of the financial system, from trading of all these different asset classes, including stocks and prediction markets and commodities and FX." "It's also updating payments. Stablecoin payments are growing like crazy. It's doing tokenization." "We can talk later about agentic finance, which I think is very powerful, and that's primarily a phenomenon happening on crypto rails." "So crypto, you should think of it as just a way to update the financial system writ large." "And many people who don't even really care about crypto are gonna be able to benefit from it, just making better financial services."

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI: "GPT 5.6 is 54% more efficient on agentic coding, and it's still the best on the market for half the cost." AI spend has never mattered as much as it does today. As a result the models keep getting better and cheaper at the same time. This is going to widen the gap between the people using AI agents and everyone else, because now it's not just powerful, it's cheap. That's exactly why i wrote a full step by step guide on agents, what they are and how to build your own from scratch. Read it below.

"Binance will eventually be replaced by a social trading app, like a FOMO." Ran Neuner says social trading is the future of crypto "And I'm not saying it's going to be FOMO replacing Binance. I'm saying there's going to be a version of FOMO that's going to be so powerful, that is so much fun, because it combines the social network with the trading experience." "And when that happens, it's going to be just much more fun than trading on an exchange. Already, FOMO is more fun than trading on an exchange."

Evolution Of Yield It began with simple swaps, progressed to stable value, surged through yield experimentation, then matured with composability and risk-aware systems. From there, real-world assets moved on-chain in a serious, institutional way. What comes next is a step change: real infrastructure paired with autonomous execution. Tokenized assets that don’t sit idle, but actively earn, rebalance, and compound through on-chain agents coordinating with DeFi. This is the transition from static financial instruments to continuously operating onchain tokenized infrustructure and it’s where the next wave of scale is built.

Elon Musk: The real economy is goods and services, not money. Money is just a database. “People get confused. Sometimes, they think an economy is money. Money is a database for exchange of goods and services and for time-shifting the exchange of goods and services. Money is a database. Money doesn't have power in and of itself. You can run the thought experiment of you're trapped on a remote island, shipwrecked on an island, and you've got a trillion dollars in a Swiss bank account. It's worthless. You'd rather have a can of soup. So you know, all the Bitcoin in the world, you're still going to starve. So, the actual economy is goods and services.” From: Welt Interview, April 15, 2022

Bitcoin is money AND digital gold. The two are not mutually exclusive. For Michael Saylor - it's the purest form of digital credit. For David Marcus - it's the payment rails of the future. "No one cares what humans think about how people need to Bitcoin because it's an unopinionated, code-based money platform." The Lightspark founder is forging ahead with building Bitcoin-based payment rails, while Saylor and Strategy are doubling down on Bitcoin-backed financial products. "I'm really grateful that Michael is really focused on the store of value use case, and he can do that, and I can be the one focused on bringing utility to Bitcoin. Both things will actually help one another to make Bitcoin more relevant to many more people and that's the beauty of building on an open network," Marcus told Robert Baggs and me on our latest Chain Reaction show. Marcus has been keenly focused on abstracting complexity away from payments using Bitcoin payments infrastructure with the launch of Lightspark Grid. "It's like Bitcoin as a network being used to move all kinds of other money, whether it's stablecoin or fiat at the edges, and you don't even understand that you're using Bitcoin. For instance, if you're a SoFi client in the US, and you want to send money to Europe or India, Brazil or Mexico, you send dollars and the other person on the other side receives Mexican peso, you have no clue you're using Bitcoin. And it's like magical TCP/IP for money between payment systems in the world." Bitcoin infrastructure works. Like most widely adopted technologies, the average person has no idea what's going on under the hood. That is the future that takes Bitcoin global. And it's being built in real-time.

Zcash is one of the few crypto assets with a clear lane and little direct competition Mert’s thesis on Zcash comes down to scarcity of competition. “It’s a tiny asset, and it’s a PvE.” “Everybody needs privacy.” “It probably is the closest thing to the cypherpunk ideal of crypto from the early days still out there today.” “Who’s trying to be private money exactly?” Crypto has become crowded with trading apps, launchpads, perps and other financial products. Privacy is a different category entirely. Zcash has a clear use case: private money. And the network effect matters. As the anonymity set grows, competing against it becomes harder because a new privacy network isn’t simply competing on technology. It also has to build the same level of liquidity, users and anonymity from scratch. That gives Zcash a potentially powerful moat. Everyone is fighting to become the next trading platform. Zcash is fighting for something much harder to replace: private money. w/ mert
