We used Kino to make this launch video. Now it’s your turn: Here’s how it works and how we got here after starting in Hollywood

Kino is the single place you can store, edit, and review footage for your videos. Your teammates and Claude Code work on the same timeline, with the footage and the notes right here.

Kino is multiplayer. For our launch I had 5+ agents editing the timeline while Donald had his own swarm working a few minutes further down. His agent did sound design, mine did the rotoscoping VFX, and we both made small fixes by hand.

Every edit decision in Kino is code with a real timeline on top, so you can change any decision by hand. You can let it go big – for the launch video I had Kino build itself inside of Kino to mock the interface, then make a hype reel of our product as if it was a Mac app from 2009.

We didn’t start here. I co-directed a documentary at MIT, then we ran Kino on shows like Survivor and A24’s Beef. We were forward-deployed like Palantir, flying to LA constantly and integrating with legacy video editors. Frontier models weren’t allowed, and we couldn’t make editors >10x faster. So in 2025 we rebuilt Kino as a unified editor and bet on coding as editing. Please forgive the hair from that era - @_rajanagarwal looks great though

We're so, so excited to hear what you all think. Please try to break it! Drag your 250GB ProRes clip from your new iPhone in! Import your old Davinci projects using Kino's prompt plus the agent! Install it to your ChatGPT desktop and your Grok Bot and send it to your team - it's all been battle tested and we're so excited to see how you use it.

@tszzl Thank you! You can talk to computers now, profound fact that still hasn't hit most creative tools

@tszzl I feel blessed to realize very early on that it’s not either/or. It’s “yes, and…” as we say in the theater. We always say yes to possibilities. It’s core code.
