You can train it with just a phone by collecting demonstrations. BASIC can then chain physical and digital skills to perform long-horizon behaviors. Here, Mars uses trained policies to pick up and drop socks to tidy up a room.

Mars is extendable. It can be programmed to run custom digital skills. Here we added skills to query gemini and the stockfish API, and to play chess moves. Mars can then play an entire game of chess at any ELO level.

BASIC gives Mars spatial memory and reasoning. This can be used to explore large unknown environments and memorize them. Here Mars explores the house, remembers where rooms are, opens doors when needed, and sends an email when an intruder is detected.

Mars was designed to be an open-source ecosystem. Like software for PCs, your skills and behavior files can be easily exchanged with other users, so that they can use, improve or extend them.
