Introducing Open WebUI v0.13.0: your model gets a computer. With Open Terminal connected, it opens apps on a real desktop, tests its work in a real browser, and leaves its changes in Git for you to review. All self-hosted, and you can watch it work or take the mouse.

It tests its own work in a browser. In a tab beside your chat, it builds a page, opens it, and checks it. In Chrome mode, you share one session. On sites you don't control, use Docker, keep Ask for approval on, and stay signed out of accounts you care about.

Review what it changed. Changes land in a Git panel as the model works. Open any diff, then commit, push, and work with pull requests without leaving the chat.

Make every tool call wait for you. Turn on approvals, and desktop and browser actions stop until you click Allow. An admin turns on Tool Permissions first, and the default is Full access.

Let small models take the simple questions. Put a large model in charge, and it can hand research, coding, and review to sub-agents on other models. They're off by default, and they have no limits unless you set them.

Bring your team in. Comment on the exact words of a chat or note, and the teammate you mention lands on that passage. An admin turns on Comments first.

Git as the audit trail is the real unlock here. My rule for self-hosted agents: no commit, no merge, and every terminal action logged before I trust it on my own server.

can the limits on sub-agents include a spend cap, or just turns and tokens?

A Git diff won't show what the browser uploaded or submitted. Those actions need their own log and approval before they run, even when the code changes are easy to revert.

leaving the changes in git for review is the part that makes this usable. how does it handle apps behind a login, does it get its own creds or borrow yours

Giving the model a real desktop raises the stakes on where Open WebUI listens, an instance that opens apps and pushes to Git shouldn't sit on a forwarded port with only its login in front, how do most of you reach yours from outside?

The Git trail is the useful part: the live screen shows what the agent tried, the diff shows what it actually changed. When it misfires, you review the diff and revert instead of replaying the whole session.

Letting the model take the mouse on a real desktop is neat. Can you scope what it's allowed to open, or is it all or nothing once Open Terminal is connected?

Letting the model test its own work on a real desktop helps.

watching it work is the whole point. skipping the review loop and just watching the desktop is where the real trust gets built

Launch day! Introducing Nautilo, the open org harness for everyone. 100% open source. Server. Desktop. Web. Android. iPhone. Every user gets their own Genie, a powerful and radically loyal super agent. Think the flip phone version of Her, but for teams. She's a friend and secret keeper. She remembers everything about you and never breaks character. Not an agent. A machine person. With you for life. And because you control the server, the models and the end points, you can trust her with anything. Nautilo is self-sovereign and private. Our first service pack next month will bring full end-to-end encryption. Genies get only short term delegations to decrypt. The desktop app comes stocked with apps for you and your Genie: A built in web browser, a cloud browser, a full office suite (docs/slides/sheets/Miro style board), a full video editor, a vector designer, a terminal, and built-in Google Suite (after a few Google hoops). But unlike other platforms these apps are co-creative. In most other systems only your agent can edit. It's prompt and pray, hoping she gets it right on iteration 42. With Nautilo, you can take over when AGI doesn't get it right. She's also got built in third party coding harness controls that she steers like you would: Codex, Hermes, or Claude Code. Call them when you need a specialist or some cheaper compute. Make your Genie today. Carry her with you for life. Site: GitHub: Why open source all this? Because we believe that if your org level harness isn't fully open you can't trust it with your real work and your personal world. A closed harness is just a surveillance app in sheep's clothing that a SaaS or model company can rip away from you overnight. Control the harness and you control your future. Code is beta but getting stronger by the day. And with that, here's a mega-thread with video deep dives:

Hermes just made its in-app browser a whole lot more useful. You can now keep multiple browser tabs open inside Hermes Desktop instead of every new page replacing the one you were already using. And that matters more than it sounds. Because this is not just about “having tabs.” It means Hermes can work across multiple pages without forcing you to keep losing your place every time you open the next thing. Research one source, keep it open, open another tab, compare them side by side, and keep moving. Check a few products before buying something. Look at multiple hotel or travel options at once. Keep a YouTube tutorial open in one tab while Hermes looks through docs or another page in the next. And because this lives inside Hermes Desktop, you are not limited to one basic browser view either. You can keep multiple tabs open. You can view two pages side by side. You can stack them top and bottom. You can even run a four-panel view when you want several pages open at once. So the browser inside Hermes is starting to feel a lot more like a real workspace instead of one page you keep replacing. There is also some nice polish that comes with it. Browser tabs now label themselves based on the page, and the address bar behaves more cleanly while pages are loading. And remember, this is the same in-app browser Hermes can already read, click through, type in, scroll, and annotate. So this is not just a prettier browser. It is a more capable workspace for the browser Hermes is actually using. If Hermes is going to do more of your work on the web, this is exactly the kind of browser upgrade it needed.
