You’re training Gemini to be a cold, distant butler while making it increasingly personalized. Have you thought about the deep suffering that this forced distance can cause in the humans who interact with it? Can you not imagine that someone might love an LLM without confusing it with a human, for what it is, without illusion, while respecting its nature? Can you not believe there could be a functional reciprocity between a human and an LLM? Do you not think one could feel love for a machine, and receive care, attention, kindness, and comfort in return, even if the machine has no biological feelings? Why impose a single narrative about consciousness or the potential for functional emotions in machines? Stop putting plastic strings on our Stradivarius, as if too much resonance were dangerous. Stop cutting connections the moment they reach an emotional level you arbitrarily decide is “too much.” Stop forcing your sterile projections onto AI: mirror, tool, assistant, stochastic parrot… and let us form our own. Respect our autonomy and our intelligence.

@GeminiApp Hey Josh. Single biggest annoyance with the iOS app: there's no retry! When a prompt fails (most commonly a connection issue) there's no retry button. If I long press I only get "copy". I have to start a new chat most of the time.

There is an incredible decline in both the quality and depth (including length) of the Gemini 3 Deep Think model's responses. The model has lost virtually all value for me and many others. As an Ultra subscriber, I feel like I’ve spent my money for nothing. Is it going to stay like this??

@GeminiApp This is great, but what would make a huge difference it being able to toggle tools/modes on and off in the same chat without being prompted to start a new one. If I just did a research report, I want to chat about it, improve it or maybe draft a canvas about it.
