@innate_bot Will any paper/blog be accompanying this? :)

@innate_bot but with our platform is relatively simple to do it anyway

@innate_bot I'd be down to writing a blog, first to understand it myself and share it with the community too, in case your team is unavailable. I'm deeply interested in the manipulation problem.

@chris_j_paxton @innate_bot Any thing bigger than 5cm? Like an iPhone

@chris_j_paxton @innate_bot yep, although depends on the angle will see if we can record that now. a diffusion policy / act could work better for specific types of grasps

@chris_j_paxton @innate_bot lol,pls share with me! Pick up anything is a very ambitious goal for robotics, hope we solve it one day

@innate_bot I have access to a worn down old building, 2 floors, and I'm going to open it up to bot makers. They can send me their bot and they can control their bot with telepresence and try to navigate the apocalyptic-like environment for testing purposes. $100/month for 24/7 access.

"Pick up anything" is really a data prbolem, not a grasping one. One banana in one kitchen is easy. The real wall is the long tail, every weird object in every weird home. That is thousands of hours of real grasps someone still has to go collect. The demo is the start and not the finish.

so we've been going back and forth about it you are correct of course, but these days we believe there are a lot of more heuristic methods involving clever usage of VLMs and more traditional CV that will yield good results we will deliver something more generalizable, but i am pretty stoked about how this one works already

@innate_bot Very cool innate team. Does the whole pipeline run onboard the robot or there are some cloud aspects to it specially teaching about a new object to pick ?
