I’m confused about the use case for this. I go by eye, and I think you will have to for three reasons: 1. Leading should be greater for small text 2. Leading should be greater for longer lines 3. Leading needs adjustments based on the x-height of the typeface

Oh and there could be a fourth: 4. Leading may need to be adjusted depending on the spacing and width of the typeface; a more “airy” typeface may need larger leading.
