Finally got around to making a loop from the severe weather sequence from April 23rd (Thursday) to April 29th (Tuesday). This was a very active stretch, with a total of 103 tornado reports, 500 hail reports, and 501 damaging wind reports. Along with this, a total of 264 tornado warnings and 1,218 severe thunderstorm warnings were issued.

Here in northwest Indiana, including Crown Point, conditions are lining up for all modes of severe weather. The Weather Channel measures severe weather potential using our TOR:CON (Tornado Condition Index) and tonight the value here is 7 out of 10, meaning tornadoes are likely within 50 miles of a given location if storms develop.
