Great to see our government departments moving at speeds we haven't seen before and catching up to 20 year old feature development.

Damn you guys are almost 30 years behind. Good job

Russian object son or Canadian shape daughter?

New technologies also mean forecasters can publish alerts faster than ever before! Simultaneously in both English and French.

Oh wow you guys finally figured out what the US has been doing for years lol

I thought this was that news from 2001 account

"everything reminds me of him"

Congrats Canada for doing what the United States has done for decades lmao

Jesus, a new shape store opens and everything's already sold out.

Great now can I stop getting amber alerts for Indian custody disputes 8-10 hours away from my current location?

What? The US has done this for 20 years.

Next Canada will discover color TV & cell phones!

9th world country

Just make sure you have @MaxVelocityWX approval before sending out any warnings. He and he alone determines what is a valid warning!!

do you really think people are that dumb that they can't look at the real time radar and figure out the shape? FM weather transmitted the area. FM comes with connectivity, mobiles do not. mobile apps and phones become obsolete - 3G gone. Apps arent needed for this.

50 years too late

Who asked for this? How much is this costing? You can literally open up any weather app radar and see exactly this. This is not a flex.

Thank you. It's good to see the software updated from Windows 95 to Windows 98.

I'm sorry it's taken you guys this long to be able to do this?

Welcome to 2003

god bless polygons oh my god I love this beautiful nation

"Introducing: Polygons." The government of Canada thinks that launching technologies of 20-30 years ago is something to be proud of

Damn I'm gona miss the 43,000 square mile yellow blocks for a single tornadic storm.

@IsaacKrauss_Wx Would’ve been great if you guys continued with Weather Radio Canada to send the alert out to as many people as possible.

do the polygons come with "Land Acknoledgements"?

Why people are hating on this? It's pretty cool to get alerts without having to be in the location or having to search for it??

wow polygons are so cool. next can you abolish the fptp electoral system?

THIS IS WHY HALF MY INCOME GOES TO TAXES!!! 🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🇨🇦

slightly making Canadian weather warnings better, one step at a time

Wait- the technology to do this is over 30 years old, and you're only just now adopting it?

Yay! (Except for the fact that the legacy areas are still in the same CAP and still trigger PAR, like what appears to have happened in the Sarnia and Lethbridge areas earlier this week 🤦:
