Introducing Projects, a new way of working in Cursor. Rather than creating a chat for every task, you work with a coordinator agent in a single, persistent thread. Like Grok Bot, your agent is always on, proactively manages work with subagents, and improves over time.

Projects can set reminders, run scheduled tasks, follow PRs to fix CI issues, watch Slack for bug reports, and more.

Agents inside a project share memory and generated artifacts like plans and demos. These files automatically sync across your device and the agents' computers.

Available in beta and rolling out starting today.

@bot Need a reset so I can try this out!

@bot what's secret new app?

@bot can you pls just merge the subscriptions instead of just adding extra features?

@bot Finallly! @OpenAI Take note. Long threads are the worst.

@Scobleizer @bot Has cursor turned into Grok bot build? @theaaron

@bot What's the difference between Projects and @bot then?

@lingxi @bot @alexirobbins @fredrikalindh @jksmithnyc cooked!!!!!!!

@bot Finally, some persistence.

@bot This is so cool. And should save us from one of the internal system builds we were about to start.

@bot Please stop making new features I’m begging you Both desktop and mobile apps are insanely buggy. You get a new bug report every minute on the forum. Make it stable first please. Please.

@bot Meanwhile Claude users are still in an awful CLI managing multiple conflicting sessions, worktrees, and who knows what other chaos.

@bot @Thomasslabbers 👀👀 This is awesome

@bot Too much abstraction. I, for one, will be micromanaging the agents in IDE mode

@bot This is the shift. Chat-per-task was always the bottleneck. Persistent coordinator + subagents is how actual shipping should feel.

@bot No more lost context! Woohoo

@bot I like where you're going with this. How's context / usage efficiency here? Is this just a normal thread + a SLM agent inspecting it, taking notes, and keeping a sidetrack context so important things are persisted through compactions?

@bot Will the intended workflow involve our Bot reaching out to the persistent project manager agent?

@bot This is actually wild Projects just made Cursor feel less like an editor and more like a teammate that never clocks out cool 😂

@bot this is the way

@kristianfreeman @bot I like it, i like it

@bot 🤌

@bot reset so we can try it?

@bot

@poteto @bot Ah sweet, this looks promising, excited to try it

@jenny_wen @bot Damn

@bot Oh yeah.

@martin_casado @bot 🔥🔥🔥

@jediahkatz @bot This is very cool. On a completely separate note, please hire someone who knows where to place the camera. This camerawork is atrocious.

@bot A single persistent thread trades chat-per-task overhead for context-drift risk. I get similar continuity without the drift by having agents re-read a profile file (owner, projects, tone) at the start of every session instead of carrying one giant thread forward.

@bot This will be game changing

@bot awesome and this is local on our machine or remote? (pls be local lol)

@bot Huge

@bot Cool

@bot I've got six half-finished chats that each forgot what we were doing. One that sticks around feels almost unfair.
