made this in blender and react. still surprising how powerful a tool functional composition is. the ticker is solved with minimal effort, same semantics devs would use on the web. this is a side that is generally ignored in webgl/threejs. canvas3d is thought of in terms of scene primitives, math and shaders. these are all good to know. but i see people all the time trying to use these for solving problems that are inherently of a compositional nature, and fail. imperative javascript and oop lack composition. this is the only thing react adds to threejs (and any other platform it renders to), it allows it to compose.

I made it! 🥳 The Hotel Admin UI is completed. 😊🙌 Personally, I really enjoyed working on this UI. I was able to learn a lot and gain a better understanding of how to create a user friendly experience. We wanted to show the performance and the insane power of the Static Hermes native FFI. But we don't yet support the all language features needed to compile React Native (soon though!), so we improvised. We imported the bindings for DearImGui (a popular C++ imperative game UI library that renders meshes), and Sokol (an amazing lightweight 3D backend in C) and wrote a small demo. "Imperative UI" means that the entire UI and the state of the screen is recreated on every frame, which suits our purposes to demonstrate SH very well. The demo runs 100% compiled native code. JavaScript runs in every frame and recreates the entire state of the screen. It is portable to all platforms, though the screen layout is not optimized for phone. We wrote the demo in C++ and in JS, to compare, and they both ran with the same performance. In the attached videos you can see the demo running at the stable screen refresh rate - 120Hz on my Mac, 60Hz on a old Moto G5 phone. It includes some widgets, an n-body simulation of planets, a playable game demo, etc.

I plugged it into Claude Code this morning. Pasted a design from Dribbble. Watched M3 write production-ready React code in one session. At the agency, I just replaced Opus 4.8 with M3 for 80% of our coding tasks. The output is the same and we are running everything at a fraction of the cost. Open infrastructure is the future.

IMHO, Dear ImGui is easily the most underrated library for in-game UI. I built a custom UI framework on top of it (skinning, animations, layouts, HUD elements, scaling, aligment etc) for my engine. Couldn't be happier with how fast and clean it turned out.

introducing kenkyu kenkyu is an autonomous research agent that I made a while back. it is designed to transform a single user query into a comprehensive, structured report. how it works : - it takes user input as query - plans the next course of action - researches about the plan created using tavily - synthesis the collected information into a detailed final response it functions by orchestrating a multi agent workflow that mimics the steps of a human researcher , but at a much higher speed and scale. this is the v0 prototype, currently open source as of now and i have a lot of things planned that i want to add it in the future.

This weekend, I explored a mobile game idea with my kids (they suggested a mobile pokemon-like game) so I had them coming up with ideas for the creatures and I try to visualise them with ChatGPT Images 2.0 and vibe coded a small prototype on Cursor to play around with. The art direction of the creatures are in vinyl toy matte style so it has this toy-like aesthetic quality that I quite like! For a mobile app/game, I went with Expo + React Native to create this mobile app so that I have one code-base for both Android and iOS. So far I'm pretty impressed with Expo's live mobile app preview feature! Being able to easily preview the mobile app on my phone in seconds is a big plus.

This is it, native PCVR on MacOS! The OpenXR SDK can be compiled on MacOS, So I implemented a runtime and a streaming app. Godot supports OpenXR on MacOS so I use it to test my integration. Unity could work too and of course native C++. 1/x
