Introducing R0VM 2.0. The zkVM built for the real-time era.

2/ ZK has gone through many stages: From theoretical, to accessible, to now: fast and cost-efficient enough for real-world applications. We’ve entered the real-time era.

3/ Since R0VM 1.0, we’ve cut proving time for Ethereum blocks from 35m to just 44 seconds (including execution) and we’re not done. We’re on track to reach real-time proving (<12s) by July.

4/ 5x lower proving costs. With R0VM 2.0, any rollup can become a ZK rollup. On Base, OP Kailua costs dropped from $1.355 to $0.2747 per block (batch size: 25). We’ve seen transaction costs as low as $0.0012 with larger batches. Note: This reflects updated numbers from our earlier 10x estimate.

5/ R0VM 2.0 introduces 3GB of memory. We’ve batch-proven thousands of EVM blocks using OP Kailua, with potential to scale to tens of thousands in a single proof.

6/ New Precompiles We added BN254 and BLS 12-381, unlocking up to 13x speedups for pairing-heavy workloads. R0VM 2.0 supports all major Ethereum precompiles used for proving EVM execution and Ethereum consensus.

7/ Speed means nothing without security. With @veridiseInc, we’re making formal verification a core part of R0VM. So far we’ve proven 122 of the 123 components for core RISC-V functionality in our v2 circuit are deterministic.
