A Northern Gateway pipeline route was already approved before Justin Trudeau cancelled it in 2016. 🇻🇪Meanwhile Venezuela is going to dramatically start ramping up production and rapidly building pipelines to tidewater. Canada can't build pipelines East or West because our political class is grifting off the climate scam. Canada won't build a pipeline but Venezuela will build several pipelines & dramatically lift their populace out of poverty. I wonder how many pipelines and refineries Brookfield will help build in Venezuela? The reality is our governments in Canada mandates poverty because poverty means control, especially in BC. Just like what happened in Venezuela.

As part of our effort to move the platform toward declarative code, new tables in the public schema will no longer be automatically exposed to the Data API in new Supabase projects starting May 30th. Instead, tables will need to be explicitly granted each permission to each role, either through the dashboard or via SQL. Explicit Postgres grants are reviewable, diffable, and greppable. They also give you per-role control: anon and authenticated need different privileges in most schemas, and an explicit grant makes that difference visible in your migrations. This was always possible; now it's the default.

Here's how I would learn data engineering basics in 2025: - Find a data source you care about (examples: gaming APIs, stock market, web scraping, etc) - Use Python to interact and ingest your source. Initially just write the data to a CSV. - Setup an account with Snowflake or Google BigQuery. - update your Python script to load a table in Snowflake/BigQuery - schedule your script with CRON in the cloud with a service like Heroku. - build aggregations and visualizations on top of your ingested data Only thing this misses is data quality and complex job orchestration which you can learn later! How would you learn data engineering nowadays?
