Useful pattern once Stripe data lands in Postgres: keep the synced tables read-only and point feature-access checks at a view on top of them. If the sync lags or a column shifts, you fix one view instead of every query that reads subscription status.

nice. one caution if you gate features off the synced table: treat it as eventually consistent. a sub can sit in past_due for a few minutes before the retry clears, and revoking access off one stale row is how you get angry support tickets
