Introducing Traces A new way to share and discover traces from coding agents, and a small step to make AI more multiplayer. Here's how it works:

Traces is a CLI app that can be downloaded from Homebrew, npm or curl. When you run `traces`, you will see a list of your coding agent sessions. We support Cursor, OpenCode, Claude, Codex, Gemini CLI, Pi, with more adapters coming soon. Get started at

Traces is also a network. You can share privately, publicly, or via direct-link. All your public traces are available on your profile. People are sharing all kinds of traces. Here's one of mine:

Why would I share a Trace? We built Traces to share and learn how we're solving problems with agents. Our team now adds links to every PR. This new context shows us how problems were approached. It's a nice add-on to our workflow without disrupting it.

On Privacy You can share Traces publicly, privately, or via direct link. Secrets from agent conversations are stripped at source. Coming soon are robust privacy + org models, an open source CLI, self hosting & more. Trust is a long running conversation we are just starting.

This is delightful! I just installed it to play around with it, and my first trace is related to my blog post about how I progressed from manual ffmpeg, to get claude code just do it (this trace) and then eventually to making a utility MacApp to do it faster without burning tokens. Reading this trace brought a smile to my face! Well done.

Local AI inference and say wanted to share a conversation with someone privately and still own the infrastructure that hosts the shared session. So no code is leaked nor chat history itself. It would be good if you have added a proven e2ee to it, so everything is encrypted.

If e2ee is there, then you can also market it to other enterprises.

love the web UI! i just shared my first trace i am noticing that the CLI doesn't seem to be picking up my latest Codex sessions, could there be a bug there?

ah, i realized the gap, i was expecting Codex Desktop sessions to show up and those are not showing up. the traces are recorded for them in .codex so they are fetchable but maybe Traces doesn't load them?

Looks very interesting to try. I had an idea and tried to make for myself: It would be cool to have a "representative" trace map for a trace. Prompt to the agent to make a map of the session where checkpoints can be linked to actual turns. It can help to read traces easily.
