The idea for came to us while we were building @GitlipDotCom (coding platform with Git repos + collab coding + 1-click deploys) We witnessed a very noticeable improvement of the most recent models + harnesses (claude, codex, opencode, cursor, gemini)

We knew we needed to reshape our powerful infra to make a product that would leverage these new capabilities: Our goal is to enable very fast and seamless collab coding between humans and AI: - sync or async - desktop or mobile - hands-on or hands-off

We use VSCode as the IDE, but the UI is the easy part! The power of lies in the infra built specifically for this use-case. We used a bunch of cool software, shout out to @CloudflareDev, @EffectTS_ and @bunjavascript

Technically interesting. You should follow up with a demo on how this integrates with ai agents. A pain i have right now with codex web etc. is that i dont have an ide. Thus, i fallback to cloning a repo multiple times locally and let agents run in it. Serial seems like i can just spin up a workspace in the web browser per agent, bypassing the cloning and clunkly web interfaces of codex & co

@useSerialDev You’ve understood what we’re solving for perfectly. Coding with agents in the web should be fast and seamless. serial is currently in public preview - full agent support will be shipping any day now 🚀🔢
