In 1978, BBC journalist Georgi Markov was murdered by a commie secret service on Waterloo Bridge with a ricin tipped umbrella. KGB defectors later confirmed the pellet was made by the KGB and handed to Bulgarian intelligence who assassinated Markov for speaking out against the communist regime he fled. Due to the statute of limitations, the case was closed in 2013.
