Google inks historic US deal to buy Gen IV nuclear power for data centers | Neetika Walter Kairos Power’s Hermes 2 reactor will deliver 50 MW of carbon-free power by 2030, with TVA channeling the energy to Google’s data centers. Google has announced the first power purchase agreement (PPA) between a U.S. utility and an advanced nuclear developer. Through the deal, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) will buy electricity from Kairos Power’s Hermes 2 demonstration plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The 50-megawatt reactor is expected to begin operations in 2030, sending power to TVA’s grid and supporting Google’s data centers in Tennessee and Alabama. One-of-a-kind milestone This marks the first time a U.S. utility has committed to purchasing electricity from a Generation IV nuclear plant. For Google, it represents an early step in a longer-term collaboration with Kairos Power to unlock as much as 500 megawatts of nuclear capacity over the next decade. The Hermes 2 project also carries symbolic weight, reviving Oak Ridge’s historic role as a hub for nuclear innovation. Google has steadily expanded its presence in the Tennessee Valley over the past decade and has worked closely with TVA to add clean energy to the region. With artificial intelligence workloads and cloud services driving demand for reliable electricity, the company is now betting on advanced nuclear as part of its strategy to secure 24/7 carbon-free energy. The U.S. grid is under growing strain as AI, electrification, and population growth push power demand to new highs. Traditional sources of clean power, such as wind and solar, cannot always deliver around the clock, while large nuclear plants face long timelines and high costs. Small and modular nuclear reactors offer a potential solution, providing carbon-free capacity with more flexibility. Trump push gives nuclear fresh momentum The move comes as the Trump administration has accelerated support for advanced nuclear. In May, the White House signed executive orders to streamline licensing for micro-reactors and small modular reactors, to triple or even quadruple U.S. nuclear output by mid-century. Federal agencies have also launched pilot projects to test more than a dozen small reactors, many on federal land to avoid permitting delays. These steps have helped renew investor interest in nuclear technology and created room for private-sector deals like Google’s. Energy startups such as Oklo have seen their shares climb after securing government partnerships, underscoring the link between policy reform and commercial appetite. Google’s nuclear partnership reflects this broader momentum. The deal highlights how next-generation technologies can find a pathway to market by combining utility-scale, regulatory support, and private-sector demand. For Oak Ridge, the project could deliver economic benefits alongside energy breakthroughs. Kairos Power plans to train a new generation of nuclear workers in partnership with the University of Tennessee and other institutions. The Hermes 2 plant will also anchor efforts to re-establish the city as a center of nuclear innovation. In signing on to the project, Google is not only securing clean power for its data centers but also helping to push advanced nuclear toward commercial reality. Read more:

Inaugurated the new administrative building of Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) at Aundh, Pune—based on eco-friendly (green building), Super E.C.B.C. and Net Zero concept. It reflects the commitment to clean energy and decarbonisation, meeting every green building benchmark. Congratulated the MEDA team for this exemplary achievement. Over the years, MEDA has shown outstanding performance in the renewable energy sector. Maharashtra now leads the country in solar energy generation, especially through distributed power models. Under the PM-KUSUM scheme, we have installed 5 lakh solar pumps—more than the combined 4 lakh installed in the rest of the country. Maharashtra have set an ambitious target: to meet 100% of agriculture power demand through solar energy by December 2026, bringing significant cost savings. Two core objectives guide our path forward: ✅ The first objective is to solarise all Government offices. In the 1st phase, consumers using up to 100 units of electricity will be brought to solar energy. ✅ The second objective is to prepare a separate scheme for the State similar to the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. In the 2nd phase, consumers using up to 300 units of electricity will be brought to solar energy. We’ve also signed an MoU with a Russian Government company for thorium-based power generation. It will be a game-changer for India and a boost to environmental protection. Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji has set a national goal of 50% electricity from renewable sources by 2030. Maharashtra will surely exceed this and achieve at least 52%. Deputy Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council Dr Neelamtai Gorhe, Deputy Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Anna Bansode, Minister Atul Save, MP Shrirang Appa Barne, MP Dr Medhatai Kulkarni, MLA Uma Khapre, MLA Bhimrao (Anna) Tapkir and other dignitaries were present. Thank you Rep. Eric Burlison for highlighting how imperative FFRDCs (Federally Funded Research and Development Centers) are to UFO crash retrieval and reverse engineering activities. I talk about FFRDCs ad nauseam, and state to an annoying degree that specific FFRDCs, specifically MITRE , The Aerospace Corporation , RAND , Lincoln Laboratory , and DOE/NNSA National Lab FFRDCs such as Sandia National Labs , Oak Ridge Lab , Los Alamos National Laboratory , and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory operate as the missing link in the UFO legacy program structure. As GOCO (government-owned contractor-operated) institutions, FFRDCs serve as subject matter experts and R&D aces, answerable to their US Government sponsor for long-term and highly specialized needs that their USG sponsor could not accomplish in-house. Existing as quasi-government institutions, FFRDCs are the perfect apparatus for government customers to leverage for UFO RDT&E work while keeping core secrets, materials, deliverables, reports, institutional knowledge, etc "in-house". Effectively, FFRDCs can arbitrate access to knowledge and information to DIB prime contractors, the most security vulnerable piece of the UFO legacy program structure. FFRDC and GOCO institutions are the PERFECT tool for relevant government customers to be "hands off" and maintain "plausible deniability" for covert UFO projects, safely shoveling program elements within semi-private FFRDCs whilst still retaining full control and access to the project. Furthermore, DOE/NNSA FFRDC National Labs like those listed above enjoy UNPARALLED security..... Since these sites deal with nuclear technology and secrets, DOE National Labs may harness the 1954 Atomic Energy Act to leverage restricted data, special nuclear material, trans-classified foreign nuclear information, and more to misclassify UFO information, wreckage, materials, etc. Such statuatory protocols enacted by the precursor to the U.S. Department of Energy , the Atomic Energy Commission, are NOT subject to declassification review and can keep such secrets deep-sixed from even a POTUS declassification Executive Order. I theorize that DOE/NNSA National Lab FFRDCs, leverage the NEST (Nuclear Energy Support Team) and the OST (Office of Secure Transportation), whose authorities are both derived from the above 1954 Atomic Energy Act, to recover, safeguard, and transport recovered UFO materials across the continental United States. I have a whole nearly 3-hour exploration into one such National Lab, Sandia, worth checking out to understand everything above: Once again, Rep. Eric Burlison , I wonder why, when you sent interrogatories to the Aerospace Corporation, they sent two men green behind the gills to meet with you instead of individuals like Edward C. Aldridge or Randall G. Walden.

‼️HOW RLUSD/XRP CAN HELP THE FEDERAL RESERVE WITH ISSUING THE DIGITAL DOLLAR‼️ Pay attention.🙇‍♂️ In the documentation below, you can see that it is possible for the United States CBDC to be ISSUED WITH STABLECOINS.😮‍💨 Though this idea has been speculated plenty on the exact arrangement or plans to launch a CBDC, this is the first clear documentation that has confirmed that private sector stablecoins can assist or possibly take the place of a digital currency overseen by the Federal Reserve.✅ Why would this arrangement make sense for the Federal Government? In the same document, it is explained further how the U.S. Dollar currently has dominance in the digital financial world as 85% of the U.S.-based stablecoins in circulation are concentrated in a handful of companies. Therefore, instead of creating an entirely new digital dollar system to monitor, with an official privately issued U.S. stablecoin, the Federal Government would only have to supervise the activities of a handful of regulated companies.👍 To further illustrate the role that RLUSD and XRP can have with issuing the U.S. Digital Dollar, here are two videos from the Federal Reserve’s own David Andalfatto. In those two videos, David confirms that the settlement of a digital dollar could be outsourced to a company like Ripple, which would use the XRPL for settlement. He also explains how Ripple can “complement the U.S. payments system.”🔒 With its own stablecoin (RLUSD), a scalable public blockchain (XRPL), relationships within the Federal Government, and access to global liquidity, Ripple is positioned for a major role in the development of the Digital Dollar for the U.S.💯 See for yourself.👇

D-Wave announced a scientific breakthrough published in the esteemed journal Science Magazine, confirming that its annealing quantum computer outperformed one of the world’s most powerful classical supercomputers in solving a complex magnetic materials simulation problem with relevance to materials discovery. The new landmark peer-reviewed paper, “Beyond-Classical Computation in Quantum Simulation,” validates this achievement as the world’s first and only demonstration of quantum computational supremacy on a useful problem. An international collaboration of scientists led by D-Wave performed simulations of quantum dynamics in programmable spin glasses—a computationally hard magnetic materials simulation problem with known applications to business and science—on both D-Wave’s Advantage2™ prototype annealing quantum computer and the Frontier supercomputer at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Lab. D-Wave’s quantum computer performed a complex simulation in minutes and with a level of accuracy that would take nearly a million years using the supercomputer. In addition, it would require more than the world’s annual electricity consumption to solve this problem using the supercomputer, which is built with graphics processing unit (GPU) clusters. For decades, scientists have aspired to build a quantum computer capable of solving complex materials simulation problems beyond the reach of classical computers. D-Wave's advancements in quantum hardware have made it possible for its annealing quantum computers to process these types of problems for the first time. Magnetic materials simulations, like those conducted in this work, use computer models to study how tiny particles not visible to the human eye react to external factors. Magnetic materials are widely used in medical imaging, electronics, superconductors, electrical networks, sensors, and motors. This is an incredibly important achievement. Please join us in congratulating the D-Wave team and our global collaborators on this remarkable milestone. It’s a significant moment for the quantum computing industry. STARMER: IS EVERY ONE OF YOUR CABINET, LIKE YOU, EVIL AND CORRUPT? Should Ed Miliband give a Big Contract to a 3RD PARTY COMPANY just after Giant Ventures investment = Charges of Malfeasance in a Public Office.. THE MILIBAND FAMILY TREE: The Miliband Question: Why Does One Political Family Sit at the Centre of Britain’s Green‑Energy Power Web? For years, the Miliband name has hovered over British politics like a permanent fixture — a dynasty woven into the fabric of Westminster. But as the UK enters a new era of energy transition, a growing number of campaigners are asking whether this family’s influence has become too concentrated, too conflicted, and too unaccountable. This isn’t about personalities. It’s about power, money, and the opaque world where government decisions meet private investment. A Family Steeped in Ideology and Influence: Ralph Miliband The late Ralph Miliband was a committed Marxist academic who openly believed Britain’s institutions were fundamentally flawed. His ideological legacy shaped his sons’ political worldviews — and, some argue, their approach to state intervention and centralised control. Ed Miliband Ed, now a senior figure in government, is one of the most influential architects of the UK’s Net Zero strategy. He holds enormous sway over green‑energy policy, regulation, and the awarding of major contracts. Billions of pounds flow through the departments and frameworks he oversees. David Miliband David, meanwhile, sits in the private sector as a director at Giant Ventures, a company that actively seeks investment opportunities in green‑energy firms — the very sector shaped by his brother’s government decisions. Giant Ventures markets itself as a “mission‑driven” investment vehicle. But mission or not, it is still a private fund seeking returns from companies that rely heavily on government contracts, subsidies, and regulatory decisions. The Overlap: Coincidence or Structural Problem? When one brother shapes the rules and the other profits from companies operating under those rules, the public is entitled to ask questions: How can the public be confident that government decisions are free from influence when family members sit on both sides of the table? Why was Ed Miliband reportedly able to resist or sidestep a Cabinet reshuffle — something almost unheard of in modern government? What leverage or political capital allows a minister to defy a Prime Minister’s restructuring? These are not conspiracy theories. They are legitimate questions about transparency, accountability, and the concentration of power. Activists have raised concerns about patterns emerging in the green‑energy sector: Investment funds take positions in companies. Those companies later received major government contracts. The contracts originate from departments overseen by political figures connected, directly or indirectly, to the investors. In any healthy democracy, such overlaps demand scrutiny. The Core Issue: Public Office Must Be Beyond Suspicion The legal concept at stake here is malfeasance in public office — not as an accusation, but as a reminder of the standard expected of ministers. The public has the right to expect: No conflicts of interest No perception of undue influence. No family networks shaping billion‑pound decisions behind closed doors. When political power and private capital become intertwined, democracy suffers. What Campaigners Are Calling For; Activists across the UK are now demanding: Full transparency on all meetings, investments, and contract decisions involving green‑energy firms. Mandatory disclosure of familial or financial links between ministers and private‑sector actors. Independent oversight of major Net Zero‑related procurement. A public inquiry into the governance of green‑energy contracting. This isn’t about left or right. It’s about accountability. A Final Thought; Britain’s energy transition is too important to be left to opaque networks and unexamined relationships. Whether the Milibands are simply victims of unfortunate optics or participants in a deeper structural problem, the public deserves clarity. Democracy cannot function in the dark. And right now, too much of the UK’s green‑energy decision‑making is happening in the shadows.

🚨Labour and Lib Dem MPs just voted to INCREASE the cost of energy, food, shipping, housing, heating and holidays by voting for Ed Miliband’s new Net Zero target. One of the reasons I asked to stay in this brief was my time in the Department and seeing how badly we were making decisions about climate and energy. There’s simply no scrutiny or proper analysis of what these targets are doing to jobs, the cost of living or to the competitiveness of our industry. The Minister bringing it forward refused to take a single intervention. She did not answer a single question. I’m sorry, but that is simply not good enough. MP after MP cited bogus figures or praised the Climate Change Committee’s analysis without being even slightly troubled that their cost of offshore wind was wrong by a factor of three. Get the cost of energy wrong and all your other assumptions about the cost of living and the economy will be wrong too. I am proud Kemi Badenoch and I have changed our party’s position. We are the only party who have said we should measure the offshoring of emissions. We are the only party who have a plan to make electricity cheaper without costing the taxpayer a penny. We are the only party with a fully costed plan to axe the Carbon Tax which is replacing clean British industry with dirtier foreign imports. This debate shows why Parliament is not working. Poor analysis let off the hook by poor scrutiny. So-called impact assessments which are written to be as impenetrable as possible, and which MPs show no interest in reading or questioning. We need fewer virtue signalling MPs and many more who can read modelling assumptions.

this clip, a plumber breaks down the U.S. Department of Energy’s updated efficiency standards for residential water heaters. These standards, which apply to new models manufactured after May 2029, set higher performance requirements — particularly for larger electric storage tanks. The practical result is that newer electric water heaters will increasingly use heat pump technology, which is significantly more efficient than traditional electric resistance models. Homeowners who choose to upgrade proactively can enjoy meaningful long-term energy savings. According to DOE analysis, switching to a qualifying heat pump water heater can deliver average lifetime savings of around $1,800–$2,000 per unit compared to older standard models, with many households seeing hundreds of dollars reduced from their annual utility bills. These savings can be increased even further by adding two simple, cost-effective upgrades: • A basic timer (or smart controller) so the water heater only runs during off-peak hours or when hot water is actually needed. • Professional-grade Armaflex (or equivalent closed-cell elastomeric foam) insulation wrap on the tank and hot water pipes. This high-quality insulation dramatically reduces standby heat loss — often cutting additional energy waste by 10–25% or more depending on your current setup and climate. Together, the more efficient unit + timer + professional insulation wrap creates a system that uses far less electricity while still delivering reliable hot water. Many homeowners find the combined upgrades pay for themselves through lower monthly bills over time, without any requirement to change anything immediately. This approach gives you control over your energy use and long-term costs on your own timeline. I’m not much on government mandates but I think they’re onto something here this new innovation in water heaters can be a game changer as far as savings if we incorporate a timer and a professional grade insulation job, The DIY’er can really clean up with this one, I put a link to an AO Smith 50 gallon in the first comment, I do highly recommend the expansion tank, it will definitely help with the longevity.
