The "Nazir" radar, with a range of 800 km, can detect targets at heights greater than 30 km. It can identify various targets with a low radar cross-section, such as drones and cruise missiles. With the Nazir radar in Gilan, the entire airspace over Azerbaijan, Armenia, large parts of eastern Turkey and the Caspian Sea will be under Iranian air defense surveillance.

Yesterday, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Air Operations Unit assisted the Folsom Police Department with an illegal encampment cleanup in a remote area that was inaccessible by vehicle. Due to the steep terrain and limited access, our Huey helicopter was used to lift debris from the area using a cargo net suspended beneath a long line. 15 trips were needed, filling several 40 yard dumpsters. As a regional asset, this mission not only supported our law enforcement partners, but also provided valuable real-world operational experience for our flight crews. Huey pilots must maintain proficiency in both the aircraft and long-line operations. Missions like this allow our crews to sharpen those critical skills while accomplishing meaningful work.

This week, air raid alerts have sounded almost daily across Ukraine. Just last night, our air defense forces managed to shot down nearly 50 strike drones. Over the past week, Russia has launched more than 800 guided aerial bombs, around 460 strike drones, and over 20 missiles of various types against Ukraine and our people. Ukraine is not a testing ground for weapons. Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state. Yet, Russia persists in its attempts to destroy our people, sow fear and panic, and weaken us. Ukraine needs more air defense systems, and we are actively working with our partners on this. Strengthening the protection of our skies is absolutely critical. I thank everyone around the world who understands this and continues to stand with Ukraine.
