He did not say anything about range, he said to increase missile accuracy, not range. He didn’t even mention the word “range” (bord) he said “deghat” which means accuracy.

Khamenei limited Iran’s missiles range, now this may change — Marandi "There was a time when, on the battlefield, in terms of munitions, we could produce only two types of artillery shells. Now our ballistic missiles can reach from long distances — about 2,000 km. I myself said 2,000 km; otherwise, they wanted to extend it to 4,000-5,000 km. I did not allow it," Ayatollah Khamenei said in footage shared by Iranian expert Mohammad Marandi. After his assassination the imposed restrictions may no longer be applied, Marandi adds. "Trump made a big mistake," the analyst concludes.
