Is 50 Cent wrong for saying Jay-Z never dominated rap and making the conversation about sales instead of impact and skill?

When x was hot. Jay was hot. When Ja was hot. Jay was hot. When Nelly was hot. Jay was hot. When Luda was hot. Jay was hot. When OutKast were hot. Jay was hot. When Wayne was hot. Jay was hot. When 50 was hot. Jay was hot. When they all stopped being hot, Jay is still sizzling.

Again these dudes are limited in their scope of thinking and a bit delusional. JayZ cultural impact is limited to Nee York vastly! Tupac cultural impact is globally and bigger than any one rapper! I believe 50cent cultural impact has been much bigger than Jay Z and Snoop is definitely someone that had a bigger cultural impact.

50 is the white folks nigga.... Record sales only indicates crossing over into White America, it has nothing to do with cultural impact. They both got Reebok shoe deals.... If Jay wasn't a big deal then how'd that happened?

Why does anyone have to be “ clearly that guy” ? Jay is THE guy. All the other others came and went. They were flashes in the pan. Jay was the cornerstone and infrastructure. The rest are just table toppings .

Bro…..answer the question…..when did Jay-Z dominate an era?? And saying there’s never been anybody 👀👀2Pac….DMX….Eminem……LL Cool J.These dudes are clueless. It’s cool that they love Jay Z, I love Jay Z! But the fact la are the facts!! I want yall to notice….they can’t address the question. Also, since when did the numbers of records sales don’t matter? Irv Gitti said “If you want to be the king YOU MUST SELL!”

No artist ever has or ever will have the cultural impact or cultural cache that Hov has .. I was in the Bronx this summer ☀️ that feeling amd energy will never happen again UNLESS Hov does it again..

If we're talking sales then he never had a year that he was the top selling rapper. If we're talking skills that's subjective considering he existed in the era of Nas, Biggie, Jada, Wayne, Eminem and others. Jay's claim to fame is staying consistently top 5 but never #1.

Nobody was trying to dress like Jay Z at any point in time. Nor did he influence how the next generation rap, Everyone had their own style and after that Nas had more reach as far as rapping style, then Eminem, Wayne, then future. Jay was just constantly Among the top

Jay z didn't tell anyone what to wear. Or dress. Nobody ever wanted to be Jay z. Jay z wanted to be Tupac. Lil wayne wanted to be Tupac. And that's all. The biggest influencer of rap is weezy. But its not a good thing

I love JayZ and see him as one of the top lyricist in the world, but his influence or dominance is centre only in America. Outside USA he's not really impactful. Real impact cross boundaries and unfortunately JAYZ isn't in that conversation.

What's the point of these conversations, especially on the internet where a million people could have different views on the same topic?

Jay did 6.8 mil. He outsold both X albums unless you combined the numbers from both.

Only New York niggas worship Jay Z. Yeah he had hits. But sale wise he wasn't at the top. He was propped up by bias radio and heavily pushed by his label. And that's cool. He never outsold OutKast. We need to decide on what metric to use to measure success. Because 50 lapped Jay

Jay-Z had several impactful songs, whereas 50 Cent’s songs weren’t nearly as important or influential. If anything, T.I. has more impactful and skillfully crafted songs than 50 Cent. Nothing wrong in having good sells even Kanye West better than 50 cent.
