Silliness. What made America great was that we didn't form an empire. We could have easily taken over the world after World War II. Instead, we helped rebuild the world and then patrolled the seas so every country could trade with each other. We did that at our expense! The only thing we asked was that other countries support us if we ever had to fight communism. So there is no empire to lose. Our economy still kicks ass, but unfortunately, our leaders at every level of government have fleeced the country with waste and fraud. So we are stuck having to pay back a massive debt. The only real risk to our future. Get out of NATO. Stop being the world's cop. Do that, and our debt will be paid off in 20 years.
