@charliekirk11 College is worth it for the degrees that used to be the purpose of college. Pre-Med, Law, Engineering are the big ones. If you are really passionate about history, or archeology, and want to go into a solidly academic field, It is worth it. All the rest is a scam.

I completely agree that college is probably not worth it for most people. I have an undergrad in Business Mgmt...worthless. I have a masters in professional counseling...worth it. The masters degree allowed me to create a consulting and counseling business, and my undergrad in business actually came in handy as well in starting this business. I have student loan debt. The bulk of it from having no idea what I wanted to do in my 20s and starting a 2nd undergrad degree (that I never finished). I hate that I have student loan debt, but with my masters I was able to 4x my annual income. I will probably be paying on this debt for 20 years, and if I could go back I would have taken the minimum loan possible, worked through college, and paid what I could, when I could. Lessons learned for sure. I have two kids now and I'm grateful for the lessons I can pass on to my kids.
