Especially waiting for a trade. IMO this is one of the hardest things to learn. Sometimes not trading is trading. You’ve got to let the trade come to you, not the other way around. My 2c.

So true; good that you stress the 'emotional maturity' as a key component of the traders' (to be) character pivot point. I worked on this for many years, to witness my own growth into the sea of ease, patience and selftrust that came with it. And THAT is the deciding factor!

It really comes down to setting the amount of money you are comfortable losing in one trade, for that day. If you’re not okay taking a $5K hit, why open a large position?

Can you handle the psychological emotion of having real money on the line.

20 people I have been in contact throughout my life while daytrading or swing trading and investing. Only one person has made it out with me. The rest just gave up and went back to their normal lives, opening businesses and back to the workforce
