Is Derek Jeter’s “The Flip” play overrated or properly rated?

It’s rated. A’s we’re on the verge of sweeping the Yankees and it was the 7th inning. Giambi scores and it’s tied with a runner on 3rd. Instead Giambi is out, Yanks hold on 1-0, and then take then next two and advance. It was a great play in an enormous situation.

Overrated.

Anybody saying this play is overrated either never played competitive baseball, or is just a hater or both.

the catch into the stands is more overrated than this

It’s a great play because it’s a heads up play. The greatness rests in the anticipation and the execution—not necessarily in the difficulty of the catch and toss.

One of the most heady plays ever.

If replay existed then would Giambi be safe or out? I think safe.

Rated...and I'm no Jeter fan. Respect his accomplishments.
