If Im the wife you wouldn't have to ask, automatically I get up and asking or tell her to please take the front seat out of respect. when I pick up my mom and my son is in the front I give him the death stare and he knows to get out and hold that door.

I've been with my husband for 15 years, and there is NO WAY I WOULD EVER let his mother sit in the back! NO NO NO! Now, she has actually requested to sit in the back, but that's because I'm so tall! I personally don't care, I will stretch out across the back! It's respect for ME

Even if staged when a man takes wife she becomes his priority my wife would have offered and my mother would have declined because it was my mom who always told me your wife comes first above all.Not to mention my mom preferred the back seat.
