Yesterday, I visited the Scottish Young Carers Festival, meeting young carers from Angus Young Carers and across Scotland. It was inspiring to see so many young people enjoying a well-earned break, making new friends and celebrating everything they do for others. I also had the opportunity to hear directly from young carers in Angus about the vital role they play, the challenges they face and the importance of ensuring carers are recognised and supported throughout every stage of their lives. I look forward to meeting with Angus Young Carers again in the near future to discuss how, in my role as your MP, I can best support them and to champion them. Thank you to everyone involved in making the festival possible. I was also proud to sign the Young Carers Pledge, reaffirming my commitment to stand with carers at every stage of their lives and to ensure they remain at the heart of our conversations.

China is smart. China learned from the US's successes, using only the best parts. It's our turn. We should be learning from China. China's economy is growing three times faster than that of the USA. China leads in almost all areas of science, and has the best infrastructure the world has ever seen. The number one priority of China is tell help their people become more prosperous, especially the least well off. Is there still work to be done. Hell yeah. But there difference is that they are trying and we are not. I've been to hundreds of Chinese villages, for more than a decade, and people are becoming better off each year. They call it 'Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.' We don't need to replicate their system. But we should be learning from it. For those ignoring it, you are hurting America. Pretending China's model isn't successful is preventing the US from improving and learning. The China-Haters should be ashamed of the damage that they are doing to the West. Instead of slander and Sinophobia, we need to be learning from the successes of other nations and their peoples.

On a romantic road trip with my partner Giada, we stopped in Târgu Jiu to admire Constantin Brâncuși’s beautiful monuments. Poarta Sărutului is considered a romantic spot to kiss, so we wanted to capture the moment in a photo. These are the two kisses we shared next to the monument. A police officer approached us, saying we should respect the monument and not kiss in front of it. We asked if it was because we are both women. She said not personally, but that there are many cameras broadcasting throughout Europe, and if same-sex people kiss near these monuments, people will think that we, as Romania, support gay marriage. While I respect her right to have an opinion, I never thought before that something as simple as a kiss could be seen as a national statement. So there it is. We made that statement by kissing in front of all the Brâncuși monuments. Because yes, there are Romanians who support civil partnerships. There are Romanians who support gay marriage. There are Romanians who believe love should not have to hide in order to be considered respectful. And there are LGBTQ+ Romanians who need to be seen, protected, and recognised; not treated as something that must be kept away from cameras, monuments, or public life. Let's use Mark Carney's own math telling us how much richer the average Canadian will be from his Budget 2025: "The budget shows...we are going to put more than $3k in the pocket of every Canadian by the end of this decade." The budget has $322B in deficits. Divide that by 42M Canadians and you have $7.7K in deficits leaving the pocket of every Canadian. That's not including the record high cost of servicing that debt that will be over $80B/year. So this budget will cost every Canadian $7.7K and they will get back $3k plus record debt and cost. What a deal!

Growing up in rural Kirinyaga, I learned early that courage is not the absence of fear, it is the decision to act despite it. In my youth, I faced opposition, just as today’s young Kenyans face intimidation, and in some cases, abductions and killings by the regime. But just as I stood my ground then, I believe that your voices, amplified by today’s powerful digital platforms, can fight injustice, expose truth, and drive innovation. When I ran for MP, as a young advocate, with no money, and up against powerful, political systems and people, I was often told there were roles “not meant for women.” The same voices said I couldn’t win. Even today they still say that as a woman Presidential Candidate, the odds are against me, but I learned something powerful: when you prepare, persist, and believe in your cause, doors that seemed locked will open. On this International Youth Day, I encourage every young Kenyan, especially young women, to know: the future is not something you wait for, it’s something you build. Today, our youth have opportunities I never imagined at their age, digital tools, global networks, and a platform to speak to the world from their living room. Yet, challenges remain: unemployment, inequality, unwarranted abductions, and barriers to leadership. My message is simple: remain steadfast, embrace technology, speak boldly, and lead with integrity. 10 years. Something feels very strange about reading that 10 years ago we all met in the theatres :) that we laughed and fell in love and formed a bond that keeps us together till today. Something feels very heavy. That day meant to a young me more than anything that has occured since. It gave a young free rebellious boy an acknowledgment and strength.. That he wasn’t a fool to dream or believe. I love you all, my Telugu audience dearly. But more than anything Tharun. I miss you so much man.. and love you so dearly. I am so proud of you and blessed to have made this film with you and you are one precious soul. My darling team - Ritu Varma, Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Abhay, Nagesh, Vivek Sagar. I send you all my biggest hugs and love. And to our heros and producers - who took a bet on us. When everyone rejected us - Yash Rangineni Raj Kandukuri. It meant a lot. In a new study from MIT and the University of Queensland, 272 international experts were asked to judge the biggest risks from AI between now and 2030. They concluded that 18 of the 24 risks they looked at each carry at least a 1 in 10 chance of a catastrophic outcome, which they defined as something that kills more than a million people or wipes out more than 100 billion dollars. The risks they worried about most were not science fiction robots. They were AI being used to build weapons, launch large scale cyberattacks, and concentrate power and money in very few hands. None of this is a prediction that it will happen. It is a measure of how seriously the field's own experts take the danger. And the numbers are not small.

The Sabotaging Practice of Over Supply and Sameness in the NFT Space. The current zeitgeist of the NFT space is that the same artists are doing the same kind of work five times a year, with project after project leaving a trail of disappointment and discontent among collectors and all of us watching in disbelief as huge resources are extracted from the space over work that feels like it could be left as an "artist study." I understand that you can do what you want with your money as collectors, but we are killing the whole space with this incestuous practice. No artist is that prolific to be able to do 5 collections of 100+ pieces each every year and actually deliver innovation and some kind of creative evolution. Of course, they can pretend play that the work has something new, but there is no precedent nor proof that that has ever happened in the speed that it happens in the NFT space. Again, people are free to through away their resources on whatever they want but with this way of doing things, we more and more are going to start seeing the consequences. Oh! There are consequences? Yes. Maybe unintended, but there are. Let's see. Let's start with the loss of belief in the NFT space as somewhere where emerging artists can come and find support for their experiments. Why even bother to bring experiments, innovation, and new ways to think of art on the blockchain if the same people have all the collectors hypnotized with their magical flutes? Why even try to come to a space where taking risks and challenging the status quo (the mission of art!!!) is overlooked? This makes the NFT space a social club and not a space for art. I guess it is fine, but IMO it is a recipe for disaster. New collectors stay away because the art will slowly but surely become stale and un-challenging. Why even bother to come and see what is happening here if you can't, as a collector, see new weird and up-and-coming artists? The amount of noise emitted by the same artists doing the same art over and over, drowns out any new voices. Again. A recipe for disaster. The NFT space is becoming a space of disappointment and doubt. We think that collections going to zero one after the other, over and over, is not damaging? I feel we are kidding ourselves. Disappointment piles up, and again, the people who will hurt are the emerging artists, the new blood, the ones who are willing to risk the most and, in return, put fire in this cold space of sameness. I love this space—don't get me wrong—it has changed my life, and I believe it has a ton of potential, but things need to change for it to become a beacon of light in art. But we need to support new voices. We need to support new ideas. The challenge is huge. I hope to contribute all I can to this change. I hope more and more see how exciting it is to go out and try to discover what else is out there and move this space forward.
