Neither Saudi Arabia nor Israel is operating under the same strategic calculus. ❤️ I say this with genuine respect for both countries: 👉 Before October 7, Saudi–Israel normalization seemed very attractive. 🇮🇱 For Israel, it promised a breakthrough in Muslim (not only Arab) perceptions of the legitimacy of the Israeli state. 🇸🇦 For Saudi Arabia, it offered a strategic counterweight to Iran, whose influence had spread across collapsing Arab states through militias and political infiltration. 👉 But the post–October 7 geopolitical landscape is different: 🇮🇷 Iran no longer projects the aura of a rising regional hegemon...
